• Re: Who Killed The Weleetka Girls?

Marlin: the police are going back to see if they can find any shell casings. That's going to be tough because right after the homicides were reported, the county commissioners arranged for the road to be graded. So much for preserving the crime scene.

  • Re: Who Fox23 Interviews?

Some people just gravitate to cameras more than others. It's not a Tulsa thing by a long shot (look at the people who surrender their dignity to be on TV with Judge Judy). Some people become reluctant authorities simply because they were in the right place at the wrong time.On the other hand, it's not the easiest thing to ...

  • Re: Weleetka Vs. Baker

I dont think the economic status of any of the victims is being considered in determining it's newsworthiness. The most obvious differences in the cases is Baker was missing, while the Weleetka pair were found dead. In the first case, the search was for the victim, in the second, the killers.24-48 hours are the ''golden hours'' of a crime ...

  • Re: News Reporters Bad Day?

I have a better one. Seems some Albuquerque cops exchanged gunfire with someone who got away, and one of the local stations routinely went to the scene to get an interview. When the officers werent in the mood to talk, they stalled, then tried to divert the photographer a few blocks away.As he was preparing to leave one cop ...

  • Re: Under ground lines

When AEP burys the local lines in your neighborhood but leaves the feeder lines exposed, it's like being all dressed up with nowhere to go.Drive down Lewis avenue south of 21st street and look at the feeder poles only inches from the road. Do cars hit those? Regularly. And when they do, you can loose 10-15,000 customers at a time. ...

  • Re: batterty powered TVs and safey

Radio stations are migrating to digital of their own accord (more exposure), and it's not a part of the Advanced Television Standards Committee switchover that goes into effect in February.Portable radios will likely take up the slack of older portable TVs that will no longer work after February, and no doubt it will be a revenue boon for AM talk ...

  • Re: batterty powered TVs and safey

stormer171977: I'm still in the dark on why they are doing thisAnalog TV is a patchwork of tweaks and adjustments over the years to add things like color and stereo sound, and just reached the limit of it's ability to keep up. Digital TV makes better use of spectrum (the groups of frequencies set aside for TV) , is expected to be easier to ...

  • Re: Tornados - Seriously?

My first instinct has always been to grab my camera, my second is to get a look at a live radar.Dragging matresses to the inside hall are waaaay down the list... and the last tornado I actually took shelter from was May 1999 when they clocked the fastest wind speed recorded on the planet.(note to self: matresses wont help when the wind strips

But it does seem to make the case that we have more than enough cops on the payroll.
