    Seroquel

Everyone been watching the news on this? They keep saying the long term benefits outweigh the risks.
I was given Seroquel years ago for insomnia. Because of this I have type 2 diabetes. Because of the diabetes my vision is going, I have neoropothy, My kidneys are going, sores won't heal and I have some kind of rash that keeps appearing because of the Diabetes (Some kind of yeast infection).
My medical alone for meds are well over $600 a month. Thats $7,200 a year!
If an average person makes 18,000 that leaves $10,800 a year to live on.
Since I make only $7,200 a year on disability (Not making it up, (Thank the Lord for insurance!), What are the benefits?
If I remember correctly, serquel, when I started taking it, was only around $20 a month. That's a 3,000% jump in Medical!

    anyone know of a benfit?

    Re: Seroquel

I haven't taken that drug for anything before.. is it for diabetes?

I also have type 2 diabetes, but the Doc says it's because of my family history.. lots of relatives with full blown diabetes. I take metformin (when I don't forget to take it), and I exercise several times a week.  Mostly, its controlled with diet and exercise.  I bought one of those walmart impact messagers and I use it on my calves and feet and it helps with the circulation in my feet.  I also massage the pressure points in my feet and that helps actually return feeling in my toes that usually is numb.  I've used Tea Tree oil for rashes and even Miconazole cream for the sort of rashes you are talking about which you can buy OTC.  I agree with you on the (Thank the Lord for insurance!) comment! LOL

    Re: Seroquel

I took a Trazadone/Seroquel mix for sleep, it didn't work. The Seroquel GAVE ME the diabetes. Will have to try one of the massager's.

Here's one for you since you know all the tricks (Or tick in this case). I was bit by a tick between my big toe and middle toe, What ya recommend? Is this good for diabetics?

BTW, For Diabetes I take metformin, Novolog and Levemer.

Well... I know nothing about what to do for a tick bite. LOL  Here's a website that has alot of information, though: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/ticks/article_em.htm .  Check with your doctor for sure because some of those tick bites can make you really sick.

Here is the massager I bought at walmart... BEST product I've ever bought in my life! lol  I used it on my back, my legs, my feet... I bought one years ago at Sam's and used it until it just died of use.  I went the next day and bought another one because I couldn't go a day without using it!  :)
