    Abandoned Pets

Well, we got yet another dog inadvertently. someone kicked one out on our street. She is black, part German, part what I have no clue. We call her "Thunder". The brown one is Storm.

Why do people throw out perfectly good animals? They both have it good in our house and know it. They won't bark at neighbors but warn of strangers. O.K. Thunders eyes are messed up and I don't know whether to stop or go with her. She isn't blind in any eye, she sees great.
They wait for us to get in bed and then take the empty spots, keeping us warm all night.

We got them rawhide bones and toys for X-Mas. Unfortunately one of them knows how to open doors and when we were gone........ Early X-Mas.

awe .. they are both good looking animals.  We were adopted by a stray tabby cat years ago.  We ended up agreeing to the cat's wishes (cuz he refused to go away) and we adopted him.  He lived like 14 yrs with us as an outdoor cat.  Again.. his wish to be an outdoor cat. LOL  We have another cat that has adopted us and sleeps on our side porch, but we can't catch this one to ....  it roams the neigborhood.

    Re: Abandoned Pets

Seems like everytime a cat we had for years passes away, some stray decides to adopt us.  That's what happened with the tabby cat.  Our previous cat we had for yrs was a siamese indoor cat.  He got out one day and we couldn't catch him and ended up getting hit by a car and died.  A couple weeks later the tabby shows up in the neighborhood and adopts us and won't go away.  We ended up adopting him.  Well, we had him like 12 yrs or so and he died last spring.  Shortly after that this new cat has decided to adopt our side porch, but we can't catch it!!!

We also have a dog that is 3 yrs old.  She's a collie and we got her when she was 5 weeks old.  Smart dog... too!  When I'm cold at night, I'll throw a blanket over me and she stands there staring at the blanket.. then at me waiting for me to say "UP!"  She is one furry blanket when I'm cold! :)

hi kindagreywolf, i've been reading your posts about the dogs that you rescued...the pup you pictured in your other post is beautiful, how is he/she doing now? i'm so happy you & your family was able to rescue this puppy. i have 1 rottweiler & 2 rott half breeds & yes, they are my constant companions, keep my warm at night & i don't have to worry about nothing when i lay down for the night! it really breaks my heart to see any animal having to try to keep warm outside on a night like tonight, makes me wonder what their owners are thinking....i guess they prob think animals don't get cold like we do....ha!....they should have to sleep outside on a night like tonight...yes, it should be considered cruelty. i like dogs more than most people i meet...i just wanted to say you did a good thing & besides the rewards we get everyday from our animals, you will be rewarded in heaven too.......Dog

    Re: Abandoned Pets

Storm, our first dumpster dog is the light brown colored one, is about 1 year old. Thunder, our latest Dumpster dog addition (The black one, and her eye is my emotican), is about 6 months.
Its so sad as both dogs are very loving. Storm, I have her doing basic tricks by voice and hand commands. Thunder, I can get her to come by her name if I am holding Beggin Strips or Milk Bones.
There definitely not outdoor dogs even though there fenced in and can run.
