Poll on Ch. 23, 3/18: Makes you proud doesn't it?
Can't tell you how proud it makes me to live in a community where even though at least 2 or three kids and adults lose their life each and every day by handguns, in the poll today, the question was banning handguns in our city, 90% was against getting handguns off the street and out of the hands of kids and criminals. Yeah, should make us all proud. Now lets all blame and lambaste TPD because they don't do their jobs like we would like them to. Hippocrites you all deserve to live in a sewer.

Yeah, I have heard that about a million times, I knew it was crap the first time I heard it and I still know it is crap! I have been to Britian, it works there, now if you believe the British are that much smarter and better than us that they can make it work and we can't? My great- many times over, grandfather was George Washingtons Colonel, and kicked those sad, sissyfied little Brits A** and showed them WE were better than they were once, and I for one believe we can still do anything better than them, but maybe you disagree with that too. imo

According to the 2004 stats at http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius_04/offenses_reported/violent_crime/murder.html The total number of firearms used in murders where 9,326 Other means of murder was 4,795 this included Knives or cutting instruments. Blunt objects (clubs, hammers,
etc.), Personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.), Poison, Explosives, Fire, Narcotics, Drowning, Strangulation, Asphyxiation and "Other weapons or weapons not stated".
Just some more numbers to think about. So if your going to get murdered you have about a 51-52% chance of getting whacked with a firearm.

Bet those numbers were for all age groups, now look at causes of death by firearms among those 18 and under, it will floor you. Doesn't matter really how many by what means, what matters is that guns are the weapon of choice for kids, as well as for people robbing and killing, when was the last time a bank was held up with a knife, garrot or a club? Probably in the 1800s. Lets face it, odds are pretty good you will still live after poison, fire, drugs all those, and yes, you can live after a gunshot, but the odds are seriously worse if there are lead bullets hitting you at *** mph. that you won't survive. Thing is, no one takes their civil and human rights more seriously than I or hold our constitutionally guaranteed rights more dearly, but folks we need to get handguns off the streets, we would all be a lot safer, pay less insurance and taxes, have a lot less death and destruction from our kids and to our kids in this country if we got the handguns out of circulation, plus we would need less law enforcement, and I am for that.

LOL, I just posted them. I have seen these numbers worked all kinds of ways. Personally, I'm a hunter and never had a use for a handgun. Shoot, If I could get that close I would use a fork and stick him on the plate. Never had the use for an Automatic weapon either, there'd be no meat left. When I went Deer hunting with Dad, we where only allowed 3 shells. 1 to bring the deer down. 1 just incase the first shot wasn't clean. 1 in case we were stupid and missed the first two times. If we got caught with any more shells, Dad would ban us from hunting for the season.

Yes, I could go for that, lower the price of gas and raise the price of bullets. Sounds good to me. Whatever it takes.
