Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
I just got done talking with a TPD Officer over this and he said ICE isn't going to be picking anyone up on a former misdemeanor complaint. I got a feeling this gal isn't telling the entire story about her husband.

It may have been ICE officials that arrested him.

Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
I also have the feeling we do not have the whole story...
This lady says she had her husband arrested for domestic violence.
Could it be that she posted bail and they skipped??
Or, trial was scheduled and they skipped??????
One more thing these catholic leaders are the same people that protect child molesting clergy and advise people not to practice birth control....
They can also do their good work behind bars if they break the law!!!!!!!

Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
Question: "How does God view illegal immigration?"
Answer: Romans 13:1-7 makes it abundantly clear that God expects us to obey the laws of the government. The ONLY exception to this is when a law of the government forces you to disobey a command of God (Acts 5:29). Illegal immigration is the breaking of a governmental law. There is nothing in Scripture that would contradict with obeying immigration laws. Therefore, it is a sin, rebellion against God, to illegally immigrate into another country. Romans 13:1-7 also gives the government the authority to punish lawbreakers, whether it be by deportation or imprisonment (in the cases of illegal immigration), or more severe penalties for greater crimes.
The vast majority of illegal immigrants in the United States have immigrated for the purpose of having a better life, providing for their families, and escaping from poverty. These are good goals and motivations. However, these reasons do not give a person the right to break a law. Those seeking to immigrate to the United States (or any other country), should obey the immigration laws of that country. While this will cause delays and frustrations, again, these reasons do not give a person the right to break a law.

Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
I don't understand why the Hispanics are taking this personally. If you are an illegal immigrant from any country in the world and you are in Oklahoma and you are found to be illegal you will be detained and deported. Do you think this exact thing does not happen in every other country in the world? You knowingly broke the law when you entered the country illegally, so why is it so upsetting to illegals from any country that we are looking for them. I welcome anyone who is here legally on a H2B, green card or as a new citizen. I am sorry if families are torn apart, you knew what you were doing when you came here.

Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
Since you brought up God. What about his golden rule, Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
The golden rule is best interpreted as saying: "Treat others only in ways that you're willing to be treated in the same exact situation." To apply it, you'd imagine yourself in the exact place of the other person on the receiving end of the action. If you act in a given way toward another, and yet are unwilling to be treated that way in the same circumstances, then you violate the rule.
To apply the golden rule adequately, we need knowledge and imagination. We need to know what effect our actions have on the lives of others. And we need to be able to imagine ourselves, vividly and accurately, in the other person's place on the receiving end of the action. With knowledge, imagination, and the golden rule, we can progress far in our moral thinking.
The golden rule is best seen as a consistency principle. It doesn't replace regular moral norms. It isn't an infallible guide on which actions are right or wrong; it doesn't give all the answers. It only prescribes consistency - that we not have our actions (toward another) be out of harmony with our desires (toward a reversed situation action). It tests our moral coherence. If we violate the golden rule, then we're violating the spirit of fairness and concern that lie at the heart of morality.
The golden rule, with roots in a wide range of world cultures, is well suited to be a standard to which different cultures could appeal in resolving conflicts. As the world becomes more and more a single interacting global community, the need for such a common standard is becoming more urgent
Where would God want us to apply this Golden Rule?

Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
The golden rule? Well let's see. Were they living the golden when they broke our laws?? Are they applying the Golden rule when cause our government programs to become bloated to the point that they can not be applied the way they were ment to be.. How about the future of our country??? This world is growing at a rate that cannot be sustained and yet you say don't worry about ourselves worry about those that could care less about us.....

Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
I think the reason we, the Hispanics take it as "race profiling" is because when the words "illegal alien or illegal immigrant" is metioned, most people automatically think, Mexican or Hispanic. I think it is because there are more Hispanics in and around Oklahoma than other races ie: Vietnamese, People from the Mid East, etc. People forget that on 9/11 it wasn't Hispanics that took those planes, it was Muslem Extreists that did that, or the five men that tried to bomb Fort Dix, they were from the Middle East as well. I seen on the news where the KKK was getting involved in the illegal immigration issue. My question is: How are they going to know who to target when it comes to knowing who is illegal or not? The gentleman who was interviewed said that he did not want this state to look like Mexico. If he would have said illegals in general, that would be different, but he categorized illegals as Mexicans. If the U.S. would have just enforced the existing laws years ago, then HB1804 would not have been necessary, we do need to secure our borders because it's not just Mexicans or Hispanics that are crossing. The news you don't hear about is that Mexican authorities have arrested several Middle Eastern nationals who are suspected terrorists, I know this to be fact because it happened when I was in Mexico City visiting my in-laws. It's becomming a crazy and dangerous world outh there and I worry about my children after I am gone.

Re: House Bill 1804 fallout
when people do a lawless act to enter a country they no longer feel they need to obay any other laws. our government use illegals to get their roads built and many other things. this is why we have such a problem getting the illegals out of the united states. 48,000 Americans have been murdered by illegal aliens, 280,000 Americans get hurt or killed by nonlicensed noninsured illegal aliens per year. thats more then any war. i know this for a fact because my son was hit by a illegal alien who was also drunk at the time and the police were going to let him go until i demanded they take a blood test at the hospital they took him to for a hurt foot. my son cant walk, speak well, or see well anymore. his medical bill are at $300.000 and climbing and paid for by the tax payers. he was 20 years old then now he is 22 and just learnning how to stand. if the golden rule was just the one that hit my son would be doing as much time in jail equal to the time its going to take for my son to get back to where he can take care of himself. and not just 2 years in jail for drunk driving and great bodly injury.

"3boys" Eres Tex que usa Mex en tu lengua? Are you using Tex Mex in your language? I know the Hispanics are blamed for various costs, wages cheaper and so forth. Did you all really investigate to see who is really causing a recession in America, by spending money like it's going out of style. By the way!, who's fault is it that the fuel and heating gas is so high, and has risen so rapidly?, nope, it has nothing to do with any type of illegals, it's none other than our government and their greediness. I've said this before, our government is ripping us off, we just complain and do nothing about it. On "C-SPAN 2, U.S. Senate Judd Gregg (R) New Hampshire stated: "Who is costing Americans money?" You really need to check out our Congress also. Trillions of dollars spent, and who pays for it?, yep!, we do. 1hundred & 96 billion $ for war., in 10 months the costs will skyrocket to 5 hundred billion. Stop and think about it, our troops don't even have everything they need to fight this so called war that Bush started, our men are being slaughtered and Bush wants to keep spending more., our vets aren't even taken care of when they do arrive home, that is a government problem, not something the illegals have caused, some of them are fighting for our country also, even different countries. The Republicians give tax cuts to the rich and receive huge raises, when is the last time you received a HUGE wage increase? Yes, our government has a real good reason to cover-up things and try to blame all of the illegals, for the errors they have caused. Yes, illegals needed to become legal before they came here and to respect our country., but they aren't the real problem. Like I've said before, it's a "SMOKE SCREEN" for the real situation. We can get things started and try to straighten out our government, but we're using our energy in the wrong directions. (cricket)
