Our Govt is trying to "Contain" this flu? Do they think that we are so freaking retarded we are going to fall for this? We have it from Texas to NY, To California and Indiana to Ohio, with a couple possible confirmed cases in Oklahoma? What will closing borders do?

Everyone been watching the news on this? They keep saying the long term benefits outweigh the risks.
I was given Seroquel years ago for insomnia. Because of this I have type 2 diabetes. Because of the diabetes my vision is going, I have neoropothy, My kidneys are going, sores won't heal and I have some kind of rash that keeps appearing because of the Diabetes (Some kind of yeast infection).
My medical alone for meds are well over $600 a month. Thats $7,200 a year!
If an average person makes 18,000 that leaves $10,800 a year to live on.
Since I make only $7,200 a year on disability (Not making it up, (Thank the Lord for insurance!), What are the benefits?
If I remember correctly, serquel, when I started taking it, was only around $20 a month. That's a 3,000% jump in Medical!

anyone know of a benfit?

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - One of the most deadly spiders in the world has been found in the produce section of a Tulsa grocery store.

An employee of Whole Foods Market found the Brazilian Wandering Spider Sunday in bananas from Honduras and managed to catch it in a container.

The spider was given to University of Tulsa Animal Facilities director Terry Childs who says this type of spider kills more people than any other.

Childs says a bite will kill a person in about 25 minutes and while there is an antidote he doesn't know of any in the Tulsa area.

Spiders often are found in imported produce, and a manager at Whole Foods says the store regularly checks its goods and that's how the spider was found.

Civil Suit Against Cooper

A Tulsa doctor will have to pay up after a teenage prank went too far.

Tonight a jury found Doctor Richard Cooper guilty of five counts of assault and batter and damaging a vehicle.

This stems from an incident that happened last April. Cooper chased down a group of teens with a baseball bat after they were in his neighborhood accused of ringing doors bells and then taking off.

A jury found Cooper guilty of five counts of assault and battery and one count of injury to vehicle.

Fox 23’s Abbie Alford spoke with the prosecutor and found out Cooper wont face jail time instead he’ll have to pay $1,700 in fines.

I went back to the forums to thank them for a good job and found out only admins can post in that particular forum! Now fox will never know how much we appreciate the new stuff on site.

Primary care doctors in the United States feel overworked and nearly half plan to either cut back on how many patients they see or quit medicine entirely, according to a survey released on Tuesday.

And 60 percent of 12,000 general practice physicians found they would not recommend medicine as a career.

"The whole thing has spun out of control. I plan to retire early even though I still love seeing patients. The process has just become too burdensome," the Physicians' Foundation, which conducted the survey, quoted one of the doctors as saying.

The survey adds to building evidence that not enough internal medicine or family practice doctors are trained or practicing in the United States, although there are plenty of specialist physicians.

Health care reform is near the top of the list of priorities for both Congress and president-elect Barack Obama, and doctor's groups are lobbying for action to reduce their workload and hold the line on payments for treating Medicare, Medicaid and other patients with federal or state health insurance.

The Physicians' Foundation, founded in 2003 as part of a settlement in an anti-racketeering lawsuit among physicians, medical societies, and insurer Aetna, Inc., mailed surveys to 270,000 primary care doctors and 50,000 practicing specialists.

The 12,000 answers are considered representative of doctors as a whole, the group said, with a margin of error of about 1 percent. It found that 78 percent of those who answered believe there is a shortage of primary care doctors.

More than 90 percent said the time they devote to non-clinical paperwork has increased in the last three years and 63 percent said this has caused them to spend less time with each patient.

Eleven percent said they plan to retire and 13 percent said they plan to seek a job that removes them from active patient care. Twenty percent said they will cut back on patients seen and 10 percent plan to move to part-time work.

Seventy six percent of physicians said they are working at "full capacity" or "overextended and overworked".

Many of the health plans proposed by members of Congress, insurers and employers's groups, as well as Obama's, suggest that electronic medical records would go a long way to saving time and reducing costs.

Seems like the government is going CRAZY with all the money, plus!! Billions of dollars to BAILOUT, ACORN, AIG, FANNIE and FREDDIE, just to name a few. Money out the YING YING! Why in the world doesn't the government open their eyes and see this is a waste? Wouldn't it be better to keep the smaller business on their feet, to keep the people working? The way it's going now, more jobs are being lost- last I've seen is 10 million jobs. With so many people out of work, how can the economy be fixed? Oh! let's bail out the insurane companies, since people can't afford insurance at this time, sure some have insurance, but the one's that don't, how will they beable to afford it? Then we have our "MISSILE DEFENSE" to be dismantled, WOW!, come on and gun us down now.. The U.S.General urges Obama to keep the "MISSILE DEFENSE." Now, who has been associated with these companies in the past? HMMMMMM! Where is our money really going? ACORN had a LAVISH party on our money, and it didn't bother them one bit. If they needed the money so bad, then why didn't they use common sense and use it in the right way? American's are being laughed at, other countries think we're a joke. (cricket)

So I have noticed a huge increase in homless inhabiting the bridges and overpasses. Has anyone else noticed this? on 412 going into Sand Springs there's literally a mattress and everything where someone has set up "house" (considering the state our bridges are in there's no way I'd sleep under one!) It would seem that the problem is only going to get worse when they close the YMCA downtown. I saw a few proposals to get the homeless off the streets. Solutions anyone?

Has anyone noticed that ther are more than "two" canidates running for Pres.?

For some reason we in Ok are "not allowed" to make a choice and that the "choice" has been made for us. Some one must think that we are incapable of thinking for ourselves. We should "write-in" who ever we want any way! I don't want someone else making that decision for me!

Come on Fox. I go to your front page and clicked a news article, I get 15 menus, a pop-under and about 8 ads. I go to read an article and I get 6 pages of two paragraphs each along with 15 menus, a pop-under and about 8 ads!

This would be like doing a forum post with only two words, then replying until done!

Please, when you post an article, post the WHOLE article in one page, or if it is to big, maybe a second page!

Driving while using cell phones.

This is becoming too big of a problem. Now, I either say that because I whole heartedly agree with it or maybe I'm still shaken from the accident. The answer is both. I was just involved in an accident where a man using a cell phone was not paying attention to what he was doing and wrecked not only into my van but into the two bikes behind me riden by relatives of mine. Fortunately, I'm ok and so are my wife(with some whiplash) and my 4 kids that were in the van. Unfortunately, the relatives on the bike were injured really bad and the other was killed. All because a man decided to drive while using his cell phone. Later investigations revealed that this is accident #4 that this man has been in concerning not paying attention to anything while on the road. This is the only fatal one though.

My thing is, what does it take to get a person to learn not to do things like that. Obviously, citing them traffic fines does no good. I mean, this instance. The guy was cited 3 other times and he seems to still not learn. I sure hope that my relatives death is not in vain and that more than just a silly traffic fine is issued.

Anyways, what do you people think on this subject. Personally, I'll never talk on the phone while driving. Unless I get some kind of blue tooth thing. I think we've all done this a time or two. Thing is, if you obviously can't control your vehicle like this guy obviously couldn't, why do it? If anyone out there that's reading this does this, please heed this warning. This man doubtfully will walk away from this without some prison time. I just don't see it happening. Thing is, people that do this and cause an accident will remember it for the rest of their lives. Why go through that?

I had also looked on the news stations to see if the story was aired but it wasn't. I don't know if something like that would have made the news. Thought it would. But don't know. Anyways, maybe Fox can do some kind of thing on driving while talking on cell phones or just any other type of neglegent driving thing. Doesn't have to just include talkin on cell phones. what about driving while drinking a beverage and causing an accident. Or eating while driving. Smoking? fiddling with stuff. Some like to read. I don't know. What does anyone thing?

Man Arrested For Suspicion Of DUI

Officers with the Tulsa Police Department are investigating an accident that may have involved alcohol. The accident happened around 2 a.m. on Sunday around 500 North Highway 169 northbound at the Interstate-244 ramps.

What is Suspicion of DUI? What other arrests can police make "Under Suspicion"? My blood Brook, last month spent a night in jail under "Suspicion of Public Intoxication". Suspicion is not a crime but you can be arrested for it?

Something is seriously wrong when laws are passed that clearly trample on our rights and allow officers to abuse power. What other ones are there?

Kids walking to school

Both Broken Arrow and Tulsa Public Schools have eliminated or moved bus stops so some kids may have to walk two miles to school and back. I'm all for exercise and promoting health but is it safe for kids to be walking along major roadways like Admiral and Sheridan or Pine and Peoria in order to get to school? I live in BA and I ask myself, would I want my child to have to attempt to cross a busy intersection such as these? But when school starts kids are going to be doing this everyday. What about when time changes and its still dark when they walk to school in the morning? I understand having to cut back on some things but not on the basics-transportation. With the superintendent quitting and $400,000.00 being paid out to him and the last time I checked sports wasn't a neccessity----it just seems they are cutting back on the wrong things, especially when it comes to safety. What do you think?

The other day about 20 police officers stopped a pickup truck, on a high speed chase on the corner of 11th and Peoria. They managed to flatten 3 of his tires with those police strips.

That evening I watched the news to see what he had done. There was nothing on the news! I figured since this was a major chase, there would be something.

A month ago, someone tried to torch an Apt complex in the same area, again, nothing.

Do news crews hate this particular block?

Obama has also repeatedly assured us that he, to, will negotiate with regions like Iran. But the question we owe to ourselves is to ask Obama and our current State Department. When negotiations don't work, what are we prepared to do? Talking isn't a policy, it's a process. And talking to people who have vowed your distruction is at best a futile and at worst a dangerous process. After greeting Samir Kuntar with a hug and a kiss when he returned to Lebanon last week, Hezbollah leader Sheikh Nasrallah declared, " The time of defeat is long gone. Can OBAMA Legally be President?

It seems that Barack Obama is not qualified to be president, after all, for the following reason: Barack Obama is not legally a U.S. Natural-born citizen according to the law on books at the time of his birth, which falls between 'December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986? Presidential office requires a natural-born citizen, if the child was not born to TWO U.S. Citizen parents, which of course is what exempts John Mc Cain though he was born in the Panama Canal. U.S. law very clearly stipulate: "if only one parent was a U.S. citizen at The time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least 10 years, at least 5 of which had to be after the age of 16. "Barack Obama's father was not a U.S. Citizen and Obama's mother was only 16 when Obama was born. (cricket) more on next post..

This was taken 7/11/08 on Peoria ?20th? I think it is a hazard and should have been repaired. Anyone?
