This trail is the one on the Southside of the highway. It has to be moved 4 feet over. I am stymied by this as they have laid brick down on one side, similiar to to the River walk. The trail is wide enough for about 5 people to walk side by side, just like the Riverpark.
A guy putting up fencing on the north side of the highway explained that these trails are "Stop and go", as the plans keep changing.
These trails were laid last year and the basic trail was finished. Now it is going to cost more money to rip it up and lay it down again, I say at least doubling the cost of the trails.
This seems to be a constant all over Tulsa, does this send up red flags to anyone else?
How much money are we wasting because the planning committee keeps messing up? Remember the disabled ramps to no where?
Honestly, we need to go downtown and say, "STOP, STOP IT RIGHT NOW", roll up a newspaper (or grab a chair), smack them side the head and say, "No, Bad".
I can see a city planner now and then messing up, but this is to much, we are paying for way to many mistakes.
City of Tulsa Budget

Of all the rant and raving on what this city is spending there money on.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Atlanta’s infrastructure is crumbling. Its flagship public hospital is on life support. Its roads are among the most congested in the nation. It faces a continuing water-supply crisis. But don’t worry, the City has its priorities in order. Atlanta is about ready to unveil the latest example of how it spends its taxpayers’ dollars. The City has taken $1.5 million from its Development Authority “Homeless Opportunity Fund” and built five $300,000, state-of-the-art, technologically advanced public toilets for homeless persons to use.

Atlanta residents might legitimately ask the City exactly what “homeless opportunity” is advanced by such an expenditure, other than offering a few people the ability to relieve themselves in a public toilet with running warm water, automatic toilet paper dispensers, and piped-in music playing — get this — “What the World Needs Now is Love” (I kid you not).
http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/ajc/barrcode/entries/2008/02/25/city_of_atlanta_sets_its_prior.html

Are Chicagoans trekking to the suburbs to buy cases of bottled water -- and avoid a new nickel-a-container tax that adds $1.20 to the price of a 24-pack? Or are they making the switch to tap water to save money?

Am I reading this right? Tulsa will spend $75,000 on research to see IF we need more police officers, then $285,000 more to research police complaints on profiling? Are you kidding me? Don't these people read the news or are they just really dumb? We have on an average of 2-5 robberies of businesses( and 2-4 of induviduals on the street,) 2-4 murders/homicides, rapes, child molestings, kidnappings, arson, drunk drivers, meth/crack houses, people breaking and entering private homes, shootings in yards and homes, EVERY DAY. How many new officers could they hire with $360,000? Hey guys, skip the studies and committees, you are apparently the ONLY people in Tulsa who don't know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we DO NEED MORE POLICE. If you have the money to do these stupid studies, you have money to hire the new officers. Kindly read the news, wake up,look around, and stop wasting our money on crap.

What do you think?

The tax dollars used to purchase part of the PGA tent for the city came from the hotel tax. Every year, the city pays millions of hotel tax dollars to the Convention and Visitors Bureau to fund events like the tent at the PGA. Do you think Tulsans should have a say in how the Convention and Visitors Bureau spends that money? Do you think any of that hotel tax money should go toward other projects? Do you think that it's a good investment and that the city should spend more money to attract new business? We reported this story as an FYI. We thought you should know how the city is spending your tax dollars. Many people may agree with how the money's spent, but some of you may not. We want to hear your opinions.
