DUI in Oklahoma

There is no excuse for repeated DUI's if Oklahoma would use the ignition interlock system. This system goes on the ignition of the person's car and will not allow it to start if the person has alcholol on their breath. It is being used in other states to stop repeated offences. You could contact former Tulsan, Dr. William Rauch. His family is still in Tulsa. He is responsible for the work done on this system. He will gladly talk to any legislator about this system and give statistics concerning the lives saved.

religion in sperry schools? is that allowed?

sperry public schools put a news letter once a month. newest issue includes a letter from the new interim superintendent jim sisney. he refers to proverbs 29:18. i thought there was seperation of church and state. i understand that everyone is entitled to there beliefs. but i send my child to be educated on fact based issues. religion is to personal and i believe school is not the place for that. plus i thought there were laws on that type of thing. i may be incorrect. but this is my feeling on the issue.

I was forced out of my apartment today (7-6-09). Why? Because I dare refused to pay rent on an apartment that is falling apart. For the past month and a half my ceiling has been splitting and falling. For the past month and a half I have tried to get management to take care of the problem. With no results and now I have no place to call my own. So who's wrong and who's right? I think the management at Bristol Park Apartments on 45th and Garnett are WRONG WRONG WRONG. And the law means nothing to them. People mean nothin to them and I for one hope that this will help someone else avoid similar problems.

I think history has a way of repeating itself from one generation to the next, Conceal weapons in bars and vehicles and shoping stores. Are we not safe in our own community without having to worry about our own safty any more. What happens if we take the law into our own hands and then an innocent bystandard gets hurt or even worse Killed, Is that what it takes before a single force is heard ? Keep your guns at home safe and locked away from your children too.

"Miss Girl Next Door" Beauty Pageant!

We're just trying to let people know about our pageant... it will be held at Woodland Hills Mall and it will be for young ladies 16 thru 22 who have never been in a major pageant... that is, school, church and local community pageants do not count... anything above that does.

This pageant has been specifically set up to give ladies who've missed out on pageantry for whatever reason, the chance to get the experience and to add this to their resume'!

There will be coaching and assistance for the ladies at orientation and there will be LOTS of prizes, including thousands in scholarships... because this about giving young ladies the tools and opportunities to move ahead in their future!

NOTE: This pageant will be held in Tulsa on August 1st and in Dallas on September 5th and in Denver on October 3rd... and then in 2010 we will be hosting pageants nationwide in major markets, state by state. This will end with a National "Miss Girl Next Door" Pageant to be held in September of 2010!

the other morning you showed a student who had perfect attendance from another state Well, our daughter Heather Lynn graduated on May 22 2009 from Lincoln Christian School with Perfect attendance from 1st grade - 12th :) We are so proud of her - when she was younger we encouraged her to not miss school then as she grew older she decided that she didn't want to miss any days.

Cowboy Training Camp Injured Claremore Boy

I'm surprised none of of the local news stations have mentioned that Rich Behm, the Dallas Cowboys scouting assistant injured by the tornado, grew up in Claremore, OK. His brother Chris also works for the Cowboys. I know a lot of people in Claremore would appreciate a closer look at Rich's progress.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ New rules being drawn up by state officials will require amusement ride operators to be tested and licensed before working in Oklahoma. Labor Commissioner Lloyd Fields said legislation passed last year mandates that permanent licensing rules must be in place by June 1. He said the goal is to ensure rides are as safe as possible. Amusement ride companies and organizations say the rules are unnecessary because they already certify ride operators. They also say the new licensing requirement could actually hurt safety because state inspectors are already spread thin checking rides and this would increase their work load.

In the story tonight about the murder in south Tulsa both of the men they interviewed looks like they just crawled out from under a rock! Is this just the only people they can interview or the only ones willing to speak! How embarrassing for any visitors who maybe in there Hotel room or with family watching the newscast I just wonder how they pick there interviewees?

911 busy

Did anyone see this tonight? A woman complaining because she called 911 when a car was driving to close to her and she could not get through. I think it is people like this that make 911 busy with things that are not true emergencies. If I called the police every time I thought someone was driving to close to me or not driving properly, I would be on the phone with 911 3 hours a day. But in her defense, I have had a instance where I tried to call the police without dialing 911 (Someone stole my purse at the zoo) and I was told to call 911. I really do not feel this is what 911 was originally made for. A purse being stolen to me is not a life threatening emergency. Now if I had been held at gun point and they took my purse, yes, call 911. (Side Note: There was video of the person at quick trip and academy sports and the cops did not even bother to go get the videos even though there was a clear view of the suspect. Unless the company wants to press charges, they do not count it as part of my case. and most companies have insurancde to cover minor things like some dude charging 160 dollars worth of shoes and buying gas, beer and cigs on my credit cards. But if I get a speeding ticket and fail to pay it, they will be knocking on my door at 5 in the morning to take me to jail for a bench warrant. (This happened to a friend of mine)) Wow, what a rant.

I am in a nutrition class and was shocked to hear that OkC. is one of the fattest cities and was asked to find out where Tulsa stand. So I would love to get feed back on this issue. I have lost about 36lb recently.I know the risk of being over wieght can be fatal.

I think I have a solution for mis spent federal and local tax dollars. For all people who are on social service, subsidized housing , or any of the programs that dispense our tax dollars they must submit to a drug test. If you have a positive test you lose all benefits for life. I mean after all those programs were put into place to give a person a hand up, not a hand out. When you have families who are able to work and don’t and then spend our tax dollars on cigarettes, booze, and dope. That’s when we have to drop the hammer on the lazy waste off space that is spending our money like they are on vacation....... common sense,,, you get caught by the police or by the drug screening process you have to go. As in go find a job, go find a place to live and go find some self respect. I know there are people who legitimately need some assistance. Those folks are the ones that are too busy looking for work or going to school to get into trouble. As for the others you had your chance and you blew it. GET A JOB!!! and start paying some of the taxes you have been wasting..... I think we all can agree that would save BILLIONS!!!!!
