McKay Hatch is a 15-year-old boy from South Pasadena, California who people clearly hate. He’s received over 60,000 negative E-mails, most of them vicious, some including death threats that have spawned police and FBI investigations. What has this boy done that’s caused such anger? Was he caught dealing drugs? Did he rage? Did he kill? No. He started a No Cussing Club.

And for that he is vilified. Hatch says some people are going out of their way to curse him at school, on the Internet and on the phone. They send him pornographic magazine subscriptions. Not long ago, someone ordered $2,000 worth of pizza delivered to Hatch's house. Then came the death threats.

Brent Hatch, the teenager’s father, told reporters one death threat in particular crossed the line. "I was at the hospital with my wife, we were visiting family, and some guy had called on my cell phone said, 'I know you you're gone, you're not there, and I'm in front of your house and I'm going to kill your family.’”

If the purveyors of profanity think that cussing is so harmless, why are some of them so unbelievably hostile to anyone suggesting a voluntary ban on the bleeps?

McKay Hatch isn’t buckling. "It's really scary, because people are calling us all night," he says. "Sometimes we have to unplug the phone. You know, at first it was really kind of scary, but they're just bullies and they want you to be scared. And so I'm not gonna let them win." His No Cussing Club now boasts 20,000 members.

Let me repeat something here. This boy is 15 years old. He didn’t just stumble into activism. It’s a family mission. McKay's parents are authors of a book titled “Raising a G-Rated Family in an X-Rated World.” Profanity wasn’t allowed at home.

Ricky is a 19-year-old boy; he’s asked that Fox 23 not disclose his last name in fear of vigilante’s. Under the Oklahoma State Department of Corrections Sex and Violent Crime Offender Registry, Ricky is charged with Lewd Or Indecent Proposals/Act To A Child.

At age 16, In Iowa, Ricky says he had sex with a girl who told him she was 16-years-old.

It wasn’t until an officer showed up at his door telling him the girl was really 13-years-old.

In a plea agreement Ricky was sentenced to two years probation and ten years on the sex offender registry.

GM is rapidly exhausting its cash reserves and may soon be unable to pay its bills. Here's the dilemma: GM and other U.S. automakers ought to be rescued to minimize damage to the economy, but the rescue should require tough conditions that neither the Democratic Congress nor the incoming Obama administration seems willing to support....................

Second, labor costs need to be cut. By Lache's estimates, GM's hourly compensation—wage plus fringe benefits—totaled $71 in 2007 compared with Toyota's $47. Health benefits for retirees (many in their 50s, having retired after 30 years) are expensive. These costs contributed to GM's massive cash drain, $31 billion since 2005. But the United Auto Workers opposes making concessions. Just the opposite. Boy shocked after man powers up campaign sign

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Shawn Turschak of Chapel Hill was tired of someone stealing McCain-Palin campaign signs from his yard. Turschak, with a degree in electrical engineering, hooked up a third sign to a power source for an electric pet fence Monday and also put up a surveillance camera.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that a 9-year-old boy with an Obama-Biden sign grabbed the McCain-Palin sign and got a jolt on Tuesday.

The boy's father, Andrew Noble, upset that his son had been shocked, showed up at Turschak's door. Soon an Orange County sheriff's deputy also showed up at the Turschak's home.

Noble said his son just wanted to see how the sign was put together. Turschak said the boy intended to swap out the signs.

Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass said he doesn't plan to file charges.

Evidently a dog running up to an officer is cause enough to shoot. I don't know about you guys, but my dogs run up to people all the time to greet them. The whole thing just makes me sick to my stomach that you can't even have your dog loose on your property.

Police steroid investigation

(SAND SPRINGS, Okla.) February 14 - An investigation into local police officers and steroids is underway. The investigation is in its initial stages, but the Sand Springs Assistant Police Chief confirms, some of his officers are being investigated for illegal steroid use.

There are 34 officers working in the department. We don't know how many officers are being questioned, but we do know of those suspected of using illegal steroids, not all of them are on paid leave. Some are still on the street.

Steroids used to be a common juice among athletes until they started getting a bad rap for enhancing their great skills illegally.

Now Sand Springs police officers are under fire.

Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter confirms a steroid investigation within his department. “In this case, we had a rumor that an officer heard and he brought that forward and that's what started this and I think when your department has that kind of integrity the officers police themselves."

Forgotten storm victims outside Picher

(CRAIG COUNTY, Okla.) May 16 - The Federal Emergency Management Agency is working to find a location for storm victims in Picher to get federal assistance.

But a neighboring county is still waiting to hear if any federal aid is coming their way.

Northeastern Craig County is about 30 miles away and storm victims there say they’re feeling somewhat forgotten.

The sheriff is calling it the secret tornado. It's the same tornado that hit Picher. But because of the great loss in Picher people in Craig County are just now getting help.

The Red Cross heard from the sheriff's office and were the first ones out here to help, with hot meals and money. “These victims matter. We don't want anybody falling through the cracks", said Hope Margarit with the Red Cross.

The Red Cross has helped about a dozen families in this corner of the county, where most homes have been turned inside out.

Lockdown at Tulsa high school

(TULSA, Okla.) May 16 - A food fight causes a Tulsa school to go on lockdown.

A TPS spokesperson says for nearly two hours at Rogers High School, students could not leave their classrooms.

The spokesperson says it happened in the cafeteria during third lunch, that's with the seniors. Now two students are in police custody.

One student was arrested for kicking the principal. And another, who had already been suspended, walked on campus without permission.

The spokesperson says since officers and the principal couldn't get control of the chaos, pepper spray was used.

Now one student believes officers went too far and can't believe what happened. “People running all throughout the hallways and everything, trying to get away from it. It was crazy."

TPS has just hired a police chief to deal with this kind of situation. However the force won't be on the job until next school year.

Broken Arrow children living in filth

BROKEN ARROW, Okla.) May 16 - Two parents are in jail after Broken Arrow police say they allowed their three children to live in filth and ***.

A police spokesman tells FOX23 News someone anonymously called DHS to report the conditions and then they called Broken Arrow police.

Reports explain in detail what police found once they went inside the home.

It was in the trailer home on Tuesday night that police found children ages six, eight and nine, living with their parents in what police said were, "unhealthy conditions."

"There was animal *** throughout the yard and throughout the house", said Captain Paul Kroutter. “Trash, flies, odor of ammonia from urine."

Police reports show six dogs and five cats lived inside the home and looked malnourished.

Police reports also claim in the backroom of the home, "dog *** was approximately 10 to 12 inches high, stacked on top of numerous articles of clothing."

"It is unacceptable, there's no reason for that. With that many animals what can you do?" Elizabeth Brown says she knows the parents and never imagined the family would live in those conditions. “That's what’s so scary, is you don't always know what's going on."

Brown says the kids would play in the yard and to her, they always looked happy.

For now police officers say all three children are living with their grandmother.

FOX23 News did speak to the great-grandfather of the children. He did not want to speak on camera, but he did say if he had not gone into the home himself, he never would have believed what police said.

Both the mother and father are facing felony charges of animal cruelty and child neglect, which is punishable by up to ten years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

Is It Really Race?

Reverend Al Sharpton was hogging as much camera time in New York following the acquittal of three officers who fired 50 rounds into newlywed Sean Bell, playing the race card despite the fact that two of the shooters of the black victim were also black.

Child Safety

Child safety is a huge concern in Rogers County. Within just a few weeks, 2 children have died from abuse. My friend has been involved with a report her grandson told her, she reported it, the daycare center claims the "daddy" is a good daddy. The children stink, are dirty a lot, are sent to the daycare without coats in the winter...and much more. The "daddy" has reports of drug abuse in his records, but when an 8 year old says "daddy" hurt his sisters because he thought they took his "bud", his "weed" shouldn't we have major concerns? The 8 year old says "daddy" is mean to him and does not want to live with him, and asks many people if they will adopt him. When are we going to listen to the child and our hearts and help these helpless children? How can we help? We really need to have major changes in Rogers County in order to protect the children. Help me and my friend to tell our representatives that things aren't right in Rogers County.

Band director charged

(TULSA, Okla.) January 24 - A high school band director is accused of forcing a female student to take part in fellatio. The teacher has since been suspended with pay.

Larry Scheer was the band director at Haskell High School. Police arrested the
59-year-old yesterday. He's now charged with two counts of forcible sodomy.

Court documents say a 17-year-old girl claims one incident happened in December, the other on January 4. Both in a band practice room at the high school.

This ordeal has a lot of people in the small town of Haskell talking.

Parent Edie Sowers says it's the talk of the town. “All day long, everybody wants to know what's going on, is it true, is it not true? I mean we don't know.”

For Sowers, the case hits close to home. Her daughter is a band member. “Personally I don't think it's true. My daughter's helped him in class. Never had a problem, never one time, at all.”

Few people know exactly what happened but Sowers knows one thing: Her daughter and many other students have been affected by this ordeal. “There's no band trip, there's no band concerts. They sit in a room all day, from what my daughter's told me. That's hard especially when this is your last year of school.”

The deputy investigating the case says right now they don't know of any other victims.

If Scheer is found guilty on both counts he could face up to 40 years in jail.

The Haskell School Board will hold a special meeting on Friday. It will consider the superintendent's recommendation to dismiss Larry Scheer. The superintendent said in a statement that he suspended Scheer on January 15.

Judge Thompson Getting Out of Prison

Ex-judge to be released early

SAPULPA -- Donald Thompson, a longtime Creek County judge convicted of indecent exposure for masturbating during trials, is within days of his release from prison.

According to the Department of Corrections, Thompson's prison release is tentatively set for May 1, although he could be out as early as Wednesday by other estimates.

Within 72 hours of his release, ?(April 23) Thompson will have to register as a sex offender, as required by his indecent-exposure convictions.

He will have to register with the Sapulpa Police Department, and he will remain on the sex-offender registry for 15 years, officials said.

He also will be registered as a sex offender with the Department of Corrections.

Yes, people are driving too fast, playing with their cell phones, juggling Cheeseburgers, fries and drinks while driving, not paying any attention, being very agressive on the streets, having no regard for others, but it all comes down to this, no one is making it difficult for these people to get by with this behavior, and as for the Sheriff, well that says it all right there doesn't it?
