I was forced out of my apartment today (7-6-09). Why? Because I dare refused to pay rent on an apartment that is falling apart. For the past month and a half my ceiling has been splitting and falling. For the past month and a half I have tried to get management to take care of the problem. With no results and now I have no place to call my own. So who's wrong and who's right? I think the management at Bristol Park Apartments on 45th and Garnett are WRONG WRONG WRONG. And the law means nothing to them. People mean nothin to them and I for one hope that this will help someone else avoid similar problems.

1. Oklahoma law does NOT support the tenant, your on your own (basically).
1a if you refuse to pay rent in Oklahoma, it does not matter who is wrong or right, YOUR wrong.

2. There are Govt organisations that will help you but there about as worthless as nipples on a dead penquin.

Just as landlords are aloud to run checks on you, you can run checks on them. Get referances and call.

I know the problem mine was with Plantion Apts. they swore to me before moving in that the apt would not flood. Well lived there 8 months and was flooded 8 times the black mold was killing me. I have cancer so my amune system is low.The managment would not due anything. So upon me moving out I took samples and pictures the health dept. said they can't due anything and their are no laws on the books to help me. Now they are hounding me for money.

I will not pay someone to kill me duh!
