Passed by both the Oklahoma house and senate,
Senate Bill 1102 would require DNA to be collected from almost anyone at the whim of police.
Currently, only convicted felons have their DNA harvested, but this overreaching law would allow people simply arrested on bogus charges like "resisting arrest" to surrender DNA without any due process.
Since the governor seems to be the only sane one left at the state capitol, he should veto this law before it becomes another expensive tool of police abuse.
