    Cop's home invaded

FOX23 did the story but it isnt on the website yet.
Seems a TPD reserve cop took some shots at some burglars that kicked in his door (which sounds like a step in the right direction IMHO) but might be in trouble because he kept on shooting at the suspects as he chased them down the street.

The "make my day" laws allow you to use that kind of force to protect yourself inside your home, but once they are outside and no loinger a threat youre supposed to stop shooting.
The World had more info at http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectid=11&articleid=20090416_11_A8_ATulsa735507
but TPD is keeping the cops identity a secret and may be spinning the story to make it look like the fleeing burglar "made a threatening move" outside, which is copspeak for "anything's justified now".

I applaud going after the scum that kicked in his door, but at the same time Im certain if the homeowner  had been anyone other than a cop they would be in hot water for all the shooting that was done outside.
Reporters should be asking some tougher questions rather than cooperating with what might look like a cover-up of the officers errors.

It's o.k. to kill innocent civilians while an officer is in the commission of committing a felony!
    Glad to see you back!

Tell me, do you know what a "Complaint of Robbery, Complaint of burgarlry, complaint of DWI is?

    Re: Cop's home invaded

By Innocent Civilians im guessing you mean neighbors, kids playing in the street, passersby, etc hit by stray bullets -- which I believe is the main reason why the law doesnt want homeowners engaging in running gunfights.
It does seem that the officer is getting special treatment, tho.  His rights as a homeowner ended at his front door, as would mine.
It's a miracle one of those bullets didnt hit anyone (including the guys he was shooting at) but I will certainly admit I would be tempted.

KGW, Elaborate on your "complaint of" question.

    Re: Cop's home invaded

All the time in the news I see people being arrested on "Complaints". Example, Theo is arrested on the "Complaint of first degree murder", I have seen other people arrested on the "Complaint of DWI", etc. I am stymied on how someone could be arrested on just a complaint. If that is the case, the people down the street should have at least been pistol whipped awhile ago.

According to the police "they were on drugs".
