PSO & OG & E Working To Minimize Impact Of Another Ice Storm

(TULSA, Okla.) December 2-  Steps are being taken to minimize the impact of another ice storm.

This includes trimming back trees, so we don’t see another repeat of all those downed branches.

This is all in effort to keep the power on if another ice storm should hit us.  Both OG & E and PSO say they have been working hard to trim tress, bury power lines and make some big improvements.

LOL! I just called them today. How about a news report on figuring out your bill? The formula they give you to figure it out doesn't work. I am noticing a $10 - $15 discrepancy on my account and friends accounts.

JD, Your not one of the guys that checks the Wattage of electrical equipment by licking your fingers and touching the wires, are ya?

You subtract your Previous from you Present reading, this will give you your meter reading in KWH, this is then multipied by .0277860 - This gives you your fuel rate for KWH (Kilowatt hours). However this only counts for less than 30% of your bill. You need to account for Rate billing, city tax, county tax and Franchise fees, so they give you a new formula.

    up to 475 KWH - $5.80 ($5.80 per KWH - $5.80 X 475) 476 to 775 (KWH - $5.30)

So if you used 775 KWH you would subtract 475
    775
    -475 X $5.80 = 2755 (move two decimals to the left) $27.55
    ----------
    300 X $5.00 = 1500 (move two decimals to the left) $15.00
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------- $42.55 It doesn't work
but my bill is for 834 KWH - 95.08

    so 834/95.08 = $8.77 per KWH

Now when you call back and explain that you can't come up with there numbers on a month to month basis, they tell you that the formula is more complex to figure out your bill.

My complaint? I should be able to go look at that meter do some simple math and figure out how much money I just spent, thats not happening. I am depending on PSO to tell me how much money I spent.

As it stands, all I can do is read the meter and see the KWH I used a month. they could decide to charge everyone across the board 10 cents more for certain months and you would never know. That adds up.
