    911 busy

Did anyone see this tonight?  A woman complaining because she called 911 when a car was driving to close to her and she could not get through.  I think it is people like this that make 911 busy with things that are not true emergencies.  If I called the police every time I thought someone was driving to close to me or not driving properly, I would be on the phone with 911 3 hours a day.  But in her defense, I have had a instance where I tried to call the police without dialing 911 (Someone stole my purse at the zoo) and I was told to call 911.  I really do not feel this is what 911 was originally made for.  A purse being stolen to me is not a life threatening emergency.  Now if I had been held at gun point and they took my purse, yes, call 911.  (Side Note: There was video of the person at quick trip and academy sports and the cops did not even bother to go get the videos even though there was a clear view of the suspect.  Unless the company wants to press charges, they do not count it as part of my case.  and most companies have insurancde to cover minor things like some dude charging 160 dollars worth of shoes and buying gas, beer and cigs on my credit cards.  But if I get a speeding ticket and fail to pay it, they will be knocking on my door at 5 in the morning to take me to jail for a bench warrant. (This happened to a friend of mine))  Wow, what a rant.

    Lets see.
Kids threw rocks through my window.
Called 911, took 10 minutes to get through.
1 1/2 hours later I call back to cancel and the (Fill in about 15 expletives) gets mad at me for trying to cancel. I did, they show up anyways
What are they going to do now, kids are fed and tucked in bed by now.

This is a bit of a side note sort of related to dealing with kids...

I was driving to the mall one day going east on 36th st when this kid on a crotch rocket gets in front of me. No problem at first.  We both stop at the light at 36th and Lewis and then proceed on up the hill on 36th street.  The kid speeds up faily good so I'm a couple of car lengths behind him, then he decides to get smart and slows down and pulls over to the side as if he is going to stop, so I start to go around him.  He decided to speed up and block me because he wasn't going to stop at all.. he just wants to "PLAY" some sort of road game with me.

Now, I'm driving a big van and he's riding a small crotch rocket, right?  He keeps doing this same thing about 3 more time - pulls over and slows down like he's going to stop and when I attempt to go around him he speeds up so I can't pass.  I'm starting to get a bit irritated at this point, so I pull out my cell phone and hold it up like I'm going to take his picture - license tag and all.  He sees me fixing to snap his picture and decides all of a sudden he is stopping on the side of the road for real this time.  I then proceed ahead and pass him.  He then gets behind me following fairly close but thinks better of whatever is on his mind and decides to take a left turn when I turn right...

A little fun the first time or two he did that, but then after he kept doing that I thought.. "a picture is worth a thousand words".  LOL  I guess he didn't want his mommy and daddy finding out what he was really doing that day.  :)

I went on a call with my father years ago (My Uncle and him owned a body shop), It was a teenager playing a similar game with a tractor trailer.
His burial consisted of the Fire Dept washing down the road and putting what was left of him in a box about the size of a Kitchen trash can. When will they ever learn?

I understand ...  I'm raising a son and he's ALMOST out of that non-sense stage.

If we have to explain it to you now, it won't do you any good. ;)
