    BOK ticket sales

With a large percentage of BOK tickets being snatched up by scalpers, we must do something now to fix the problem. Until a federal law is passed, then the scalpers will continue to deny Tulsans the oppertunity to enjoy OUR building at a FAIR price. Since the BOK Center is being paid for by Tulsans and surounding communities, I feel that is only fair that we get first dibs on the tickets. My idea is that tickets be sold at the ticket counters at the BOK Center and LOCAL agents, i.e. Homeland ect. for the first three days, face-to-face (no internet) starting on Saturday morning and continuing thru Monday evening. This will give a majority of us to buy tickets first. Additionally this will give the people who funded this venue to have an oppertunity to get tickets at face value. If any tickets are left over, then at that point they will be offered over the internet to sell to the rest of the nation. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Still haven't figured out why Tulsa doesn't have a scalping law. Every other state I have been in does. But you sell a ticket you get the taxes so I don't think the council cares.

    Re: BOK ticket sales

...the problem is that if Tulsa passes a "Scalping-Law" it will work fine to stop scalpers in Oklahoma....but will not effect the other 49 states, and since a majority of these scalping companies are located in other states, they will be free to hoard the tickets and resell them as they wish and for any prices they demand...there is where the problem lies. So with my idea of selling them at the local ticket booths, face-to-face, for the first few days, then we as the owners of the BOK Center will have the first chance to purchase tickets at cost!....

I am just sad to see how much tickets are for events.  I remember when you could go o a concet for 20 bucks and that was the good seats.  To pay 100 bucks for the nose bleed section in section 300 is ridiculous.  I am boycotting all BOK events.  I would much rather watch it on tv than in the rafters scared to stand up.

I went to the Neil Diamond Concert and paid $65 for nosebleed seats.  Once we got in, there was a gentleman up in that section passing out tickets to one of the lower sections for free.  We started out 3 rows from the rafters and ended up 4 rows up from the floor.  Now, I did have to buy the nosebleed seats to begin, but I thought it was mighty cool of somebody to have purchased an entire block and be passing out tickets to get better seats.
