MrsPR USA:Give it a chance, it's not even done yet. Who knows one day we can be like OKC...
Bite your tongue! No, no we dont want to be like OKC! Im not buying into the "Iconic" BS but really... We have a river, they had to open up a sewer to pretend they have one. Come on, we dont need to play second fiddle to some urban sprawl community.

stormer171977: Shoot, even NASCAR couldn't sell out the convention center, lol.
That's what hurts the most, we could of built a NASCAR track with that $230M and be making money hand over foot through out the entire city.

Sorry, I know you are right, I am all for progress, just in my opinion this is not really progress, it is like painting an old rotten fence with a new shiny coat of paint, it looks good, but underneath it is still just an old rotten fence. I feel that is what Tulsa is trying to do, they want to look good without actally investing themselves emotionally or logically. Don't know if you have ever seen the Elvis Presley movie called "Stay Away Joe", saw it long ago, never forgot this one part, and what Tulsa is doing reminds me of the way they remodeled their house in the movie. Do you live in Tulsa? How long have you lived here? If you don't mind my asking.

I assume your talking to me: I live in Broken Arrow now. I have only lived here just over a year. I moved from Tulsa and lived there for over 20 years. I have lived on every side of town. N,S,E and W.
No, I cant say I have seen any of Elvis movies. What I see thou, is Tulsa trying....We have a Mayor that may not be great to some, but at least she is trying to do something for Tulsa. I cant say that for too many other Mayors.
Some people say we dont need to copy other city's or state's but look at their economy. Look at their roads etc... They are doing a lot better then we are. Like I said before, and I will say it till the day I die. Tulsa is so far behind.....................
I have been too, Dallas, Ft Worth, Kansas City Mo. Little Rock Ar. Just all in the last month. Just driving around you can see so many things to do, people look alive.....

Yes, I was talking to you. While I admire your optimistic view, I don't see us making any real progress, I see pet projects being promoted without any real regard as to what the citizens want. It is true that we are behind, this has not always been true, in the past we were considered a very livible city. I have been to all the cities you mentioned, and yes they do have things to do, they also don't feel compelled to raze every historic building they have and rebuild something made of glass and steel, or get rid of their amusement parks and such. As far as our Mayor goes, you can have her because I think she is a wealthy, elitist snob who doesn't care about quality of living for the people of Tulsa, but only about making Tulsa LOOK prosperous and progressive for her own social agenda, I think she stinks to high heaven, and I would love the opportunity to tell her so. So even though I respect your right to your opinion, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree for now.
