Lawsuit against House Bill 1804
What do you think about this lawsuit?

Article: In downtown Tulsa, Tulsa's Hispanic community is gathering for the Dia de los Muertos festival. It’s a tradition that celebrates the lives of those who have died. However, it’s Oklahoma’s new immigration reform law that's stealing the spotlight on this holiday. People say they are not giving up on a lawsuit that would put a halt to this law. They're still hoping a U.S. District Judge will find the new law unconstitutional.

Well...... I have painfully read through this poor excuse of a lawsuit complaint and thankfully they stopped on page 16 of 114. I honestly thought I was reading church programs of different Hispanic Churches that had the same congregation of one American family called the Doe's. This Doe family sounded like simple folks however, all the parents were named John and Jane and their kids were named #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, with their youngest being #7. Maybe this explains why the ACLU hasn't surfaced yet and who could blame them?

It is really simple, the legal registered voters of the Great State of Oklahoma voter for HB1804 making it a legal document by the State of Oklahoma. No judge or lawsuit can take that away from the legal residents of this Great State. If you don't like it nobody is forcing you to stay here feel free to leave at time.

Re: Lawsuit against House Bill 1804
The church leaders are mad because their congregation was leaving the state, they have no parishioners, they have no church.....my only guess why they brought up this weak lawsuit.

Judge Payne accepted the State's Motion to Dismiss CONLAMIC'S law suit to repeal the Oklahoma Tax Payers and Citizens Protection Act 2007. Motion to dismiss HB1804 Law suit accepted by judge. We knew it would take time to follow the legal process to eventually have this law repealed. CONLAMIC is prepared to proceed. We can not allow other states to think they can create inhumane laws of this nature without any opposition. While the co-authors are rejoicing about this temporary victory we need to continue strong in advocating against such laws. It looks encourging to see State Legislatures beginning to question HB 1804. (cricket)

Let HB1804 stand if you come back legally that is great, if you are here illegally then go back to your country. I support this bill. And I Vote too.

kindagreywolf: There giving the good people that came here legally through Work Visa's or citizenship a bad name. But they don't care.
They don't care about America either, their only interest is selfish needs and their arrogances over this is wearing thin on me.

Re: Lawsuit against House Bill 1804
I was in Walmart yesterday where there were 3 Hispanics saying all kinds of crap about the U.S. One of them went as far as saying that he came to the U.S. for a job and if we wouldn't give him one, he would steal what he wanted. Talk about rascist, they assumed because I am white I do not speak Spanish! Surprise! I learned Spanish because I was hanging out on the railroad tracks with the migrant farm workers! If you were in Walmart at the time, I was the one hollering, "Illegals trying to steal food in the cookie isle, Illegals trying to steal food in the cookie isle". They ran out of the store. And the problem is, I feel really bad. My father didn't raise me with a lick of racism and I feel I am dishonoring his memory now. I love other cultures, I love to read about them, talk to the people about there countries and beliefs, but when I look at Hispanics now, I get sick to my stomach.

Re: Lawsuit against House Bill 1804
I just got back from Phoenix on Thursday, and the hispanic population there is staggering. The recently adopted a cousin of our Bill 1804 and several hundred thousand left the city!! That city was built on the backs of Mexican families. We visited the Historical Museums and learned about Pheonix. How the families that were living there when it became a state became legalized I believe is what I read. So in return for that, they enlisted as volunteers, enlisted men and women, and various other things during war times and hard times! Amazing how they adapted to American life so easily and graciously!
They are protesting the Bill there too, but I believe it's been rejected out of the courts. They don't hate Mexicans there by any means, but they do want to weed out the illegals. We ended up in several parts of town there that looked just like Mexico! Went in the convenience stores and it was hard to talk to the clerks because they didn't understand english (needed a pop in a bad way!) They smiled and helped me understand them better by gesturing and pointing and calling things by their mexican names...had a fun time in that store! But here, you go in and it's the same scenario except they don't even try, they look at you like you're stupid and call you names in spanish (yeah, I know all the bad words amigos!! Thanks cooks at Montereys in Bartlesville!!) We got back and I realized how hateful and arrogant the Mexican population is here compared to Arizona. At least there they want to combine the two cultures so that they understand each other better. Here they come and want to change it to Mexico, but want the same liberties as legals and natural citizens.......

Re: Lawsuit against House Bill 1804
I can see why those two attorneys took this case, when the courts declare the bill unconstitutional, those nice hispanic folks will come back and sue the state, guess who will be there to represent them? Yep, HICKMAN and ASSOC. Someone should kick their traitor a**** for filing that lawsuit for those interlopers. I have no hatred for hispanics, I welcome any who take the time to become legal citizens, pay taxes, keep American currency in America( not send to Mexico,) pay into our system and serve in the armed forces, but those who just want to take and rape our land for what they can get, I say leave and don't bother to come back, you are not welcomed.

Re: Lawsuit against House Bill 1804
Me thinks we need to stop living in the past. This is the problem America is facing today. Living in the past just breeds racism. Sure, the Spanish had the country, The English, The French, The Germans, The Native Americans, The Polynesians, on and on. Under this mentality, and if you believe in the bible, lets take a small leap. Since the beginnings of the bible and supposedly the Garden of Eden, all took place in Egypt and Irag, so technically, America then all belongs to these two countries, were all trespassers, and we should get off this planet and give it back to them! Lets kick forward to "Columbus", When was this? 1498 He found America? Who were the people that greeted him? He was Italian funded with Spanish money. Let's debate that for awhile. I know what your thinking, "KGW, TAKE YOUR FREAKING MEDS". But the point is, we can have a circle jerk all day on who owns what, who deserves what, who did what to who, etc did what to etc, and it will get us nowhere! Today we all live in a country called AMERICA, not Mexica, not Britica, not Frenchica, not Italica. Not one person on this group was here for all the stuff that went on in the making of America, not one. We need to live NOW and not yesterday.
