    Re: NO 1804

Hello Pancho, I see I have struck a nerve with you, so you start your post calling me Sammy. ( that hurts sir. LOL ) I will try to address all of your questions.

When the so called low paying jobs open up from the mass exodus of illegal immigrants there will be people standing in line to take the jobs. ( Legal citizens ) and if there is a shortage, the wages will go up, quality of life will increase for them and that means more money going into the economy instead of being sent back to families in another country. The money will actually stay here in the states. You also state that you don’t think I would be able to do the work due to the long hours or weather conditions. I work 70+ hours a week, in the weather and I own my own company. Hard work is what I was raised with and have passed on to my children. Please before you try to belittle someone you should know something about them.

Welfare, It disgusts me that anybody takes advantage of the welfare system. Legal or not, if you are an able bodied person, get your butt to work!!!!!! and I truly believe there should be an ongoing process to justify the fact that a person needs to be an welfare, and there should be a time limit as to how long you can receive benefits. If a person is caught taking advantage of the system you are removed NEVER to receive benefits again. ( Hope I am clear on that point. )

Why should amnesty be offered to someone whois here illegally?? When thousands of immigrants came to this country the correct way. It’s like jumping to the front of the line and flipping the Bird to everyone behind them. It’s not right and should not happen.

Now as far as starting up an account to collect money to send folks back to their home countries. Come on Pancho, you claim to have a masters degree, surly you must recognize sarcasm when you read it I think you know that I would not want to give an Illegal immigrant one more penny of my hard earned money if I don’t have to.. Stick out tongueBig Smile

Exactly Sam, all I've noticed this past month as the illegal's vacate to Colorado is white/black people mowing yards, building homes and cooking in our restaurants once again. This myth about no one here to do the work that the Hispanic activist and corrupt Home Builders Association use, is about as lame as it gets.

I'd really enjoy seeing the Home Builders Associations having to pay for the damage they have done to our Hospitals, Schools Systems and etc as they reaped huge profits from running illegal work crews. And the irony to all of this is the Home Builders Associations is supposedly getting ready to file suit against our State over HB1804.

Sorry, I'm not illegal. I'm Irish, German, and Cherokee. Have a valid birthcertificate and license and have lived in Tulsa for 49 years. I don't care where you work, especially if you are a cop, doesn't mean nothing to me. So if you are trying to make a point what is it?

    Re: NO 1804

I see a lot a people are so happy they can finally see the immigrants  getting a big slap (let's face it you guys are hating the immigrants no matter if they are legal or not). well ,I have an ideea ,if you don't want to see them no more why don't you try to tell the whole world the pure truth about this country, the truth about the medical system, about the school system, about the cost of living and the average income, about the quality of food, about the social protection, about the law system, about the quality of enviorment.
I think no one will ever want to come over, they may even want to help us build a huge fence all the way arround

    Pancho and Monrio

If this country was so horrible we would not have this immigration problem that we have now. so drop the " this Country is terrible act." It’s getting old. If this Country was so terrible all the illegal immigrants would not be fighting so hard to stay and you two gentleman would not have a thing to complain about. Now to address your " I’m a hater " statement. It really shows your lack of understanding a debate. Just because a person does not agree with you or your views they are labeled a hater. C’mon fellas, this is about people who have entered this Country illegally and now the repercussions of that act. There a re so many people who live here from all parts of the world and that is a huge part of what makes this a great country. One of the other things is that makes this country great is that the people have a voice in the government at that voice is loud and clear on this topic. We welcome all legal immigrants and we want the illegal immigrants to leave, face deportation or criminal charges. It is simple and not motivated by hate.

And for you to call all Americans lazy and slobs, really does not make your side of the argument worth listening to. Stick with the points of debate and leave the name calling to the children.

You guys have a great day, and look forward to your reply.

    Re: NO 1804

The reason why most of these immigrants don't go back is because when they left their countries they sold everything, they cut their connections that helped them made a living there .also they are ashamed to admit they made a mistake, because people back there would not understand. They only see the lobby about the America and a come back is most of the time interpreted as a failure. However I met enough people that did go back even they were legally here and I know people that only wait until they will put together the money they brought with them.
But anyway, did you ever go to see other places, other cultures, other systems? As a professor assistant I get to go in missions all over the world and I can tell we can do a lot better, but we're stuck with old mentalities and false traditions. we refuse to see that our schools produce too many dropouts, we refuse to see that too many families are too disorganized and only bring kids to confusion and bad choices, we refuse too see that we are surrounded by  too many obsessive compulsive disordered ,and I can go on and on.
As an American I certainly don't like illegal thinks, but it makes me sick to see so much hate and it makes me sick to see how perfect some of us believe they are. We are Christians; we should come to better thoughts. Remember that song? This is my country; this is your country…

my fellows, I wish you the best!

    Re: NO 1804

OY!  There are so many posts to reply to I just did an eeny meany miny mo.  It shall prove interesting to see how this bill plays out.  So, there will be no raids and no profiling?  Hmmm, if I were a gambling woman, my bet says there will be.

This bill will come bite us on our arses.  Why?  There are so many lazy Americans.  There are so many jobs that most Americans absolutely will work at for the salary the will receive for hard labor.  It's already begun in Western OK in the cotton fields.  Although, Arkansas does not have a bill of this sort yet, if they do enact such a law, who will work in the chicken slaughter houses?  Americans?  Ha!  I believe not.  We will end up payng the price by increased prices of goods and services because we will not have the labor pool to get products to market.  I have the 'opportunity' to see many drunk, red neck, white guys that would not pick cotten or crops or work outside in an Oklahoma summer to save their drunken lives, yet they moan and groan about there not being any jobs.  They do however, seem to be loud and bolsterious about the 'damn Mexicans'.

Most of this is our own fault, anyway.  American companies move their manufacturing companies to countries with cheap labor, such as Mexico.  Just last night the news covered a story of a corporation farmer who moved his 'farm' to Mexico, from California.  He said he CANNOT get Americans to work on the farm.  This is even with raising salaries and benefits.  Hmmmm.  Back in 1984 the state of Washington came down hard on 'illegals' that were there mainly working on picking crops.  They had to bus high school kids out to some of the farms to pick crops.  Heheheh, most of them lasted a day or less.  Guess what?  The crops rotten in the fields.  Where were the Americans?

What I like the least about this bill is someone can be charged with a felony! for offering any kind of assistance to someone that is here and undocumented.  Well now, I have given rides, meals, drinks of water to 'illegals'.  So, that means if I do that again I can be charged with a felony.  I am an educated woman with a fairly decent income.  So if I get put in jail for offering humanitarian assistance to someone then you lose tax money, rather than gain tax money.  Heck, your tax money would go to feed and house me in the state prison.  Well............maybe I need a vacation, on your dime, I might add.

Finally, we will see an increase in hate crimes against people of color.  Already, the KKK membership is growing.  Frankly, I do not want to go backward in time.  Do you?  As a 1/2 Native American I have experienced prejudice from both sides.  This law is not the answer to our open borders.

    Re: NO 1804

"What are you talking about the instant a person enters this country illegaly they are a criminal"

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

    • Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
    • Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
    • Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;

    has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

    Re: NO 1804

I hate to see Oklahoma leading the nation with such hate and racism.  I agree that something should be done regarding immigration on a federal level,  and I do not want my tax dollars spent on medical benefits for people who can afford it legal or not.  Whether people like it or not our local economy benefits from immigrants legal/illegal.  People who think that everyone is payed in cash are unaware of what really goes on.  Many are paid by check and taxes are withheld that are never being reclaimed.  What about the social security that is taken out that will never be reclaimed and is currently being paid out to the elderly that receive the benefits right now.  The passage of this bill has enabled everyone to be nasty toward people of  other ethnicities with the main focus on hispanics and mexicans.  If these immigrants were of a lighter color would they viewed the same, probably not.   I hope our economy suffers and we pay the for what this state has done and realize how we once benefited.
