    Re: 1804 Big Mistake.

Yahoo features a poll of the HAPPIEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD. Denmark is the Happiest overall, but at the top of the list is: Number one, Nigeria, Number two, Mexico. Ranking by levels of subjective well being, it is: Number one, Puerto Rico, Number two, Mexico. So if Mexico is so happy, why are they all coming here, we are miserable in the US, we ranked like number 15. Do they know they are one of the happiest countries in the world?  Should'nt someone tell them?

    Re: 1804 Big Mistake.

"I have listened to the news and to just about everyone on the house bill 1804. Just this moring on the broadcast I hear about employers who are willing to pay illegals cash money, therefore not paying FICA & FUTA taxes. Well my opinion on that is I am a American Citizen and I can't tell you how many times I have been asked to work for cash under the table. I know of many women, who are American Citzens, that have cleaning businessess and receive cash for their services. They do not claim there income so that way they don't have to pay taxes on what they recieve. It's not just illegals its Americans as well. I am tired of hearing people blaming all of this on illegals. Illegals have to pay taxes. They can not walk into a store and walk out without paying taxes. When they purchase a house or a car they pay taxes. When they get there tags for the vehicles they pay taxes. If anything our goverment is making money. Illegals are working with many dependents and don't file taxes when they receive their 1099's. They would more likely receive refunds but being they don't file who keeps that money that is taken out of there paychecks?"

It's also illegals impacting the infrastructure.  Many of our hospitals are closing because per federal law they cannot turn away anyone because they can't pay.  This is intended to help the needy, not the illegal immigrants who know they can go to any hospital and get treated for anything without paying or registering anything.  This is driving a lot of emergency rooms under.  Then there's the resource usage, it's estimated that 10 to 15 percent of the US population is made up of illegals.  How much less would food, gas and housing cost if illegals weren't here?  And how about salaries?  If there were fewer workers competing for jobs, then the salaries would go up.  Yes, the product costs would also go up, but overall it would help everyone here legally.  Then there's the anchor baby system.  Have a kid, bring all your relatives over.  The ones that can't work can sign up for welfare.  Think that money's free?  No, it comes out of MY pocket.  I don't mind welfare when it's used for those that can't make a living on their own, but not a nickel should be going to an illegal or any relatives who get to come/stay for whatever reason, including the anchor baby program.  The few taxes paid in by these illegals is more than eaten by their resource theft.

" I also heard not to long ago Sheriff Glanz stating that there will be not raids. The most concern is people who are in our jails. Well that would be fine but it's not true. Just yesterday there was a raid at Walmart on Admiral. They also raided a constrution site on Admiral street where 20 people were taken. I do agree if a criminal is not legal he/she should be deported, but not innocent people. I believe it will turn into so many people discriminating against others."

By definition, an illegal alien is a criminal.  From Websters:

    illegal alien –noun
1.a foreigner who has entered or resides in a country unlawfully or without the country's authorization.
2.a foreigner who enters the U.S. without an entry or immigrant visa, esp. a person who crosses the border by avoiding inspection or who overstays the period of time allowed as a visitor, tourist, or businessperson.

    il·le·gal  adjective
    1.forbidden by law or statute.
2.contrary to or forbidden by official rules, regulations, etc.
What part of this do you not understand?  Being an illegal alien means they broke the law to be here, by definintion this makes them a criminal.  I applaud these raids, because it means the law is being enforced.  Not only should these people be deported, but all their possessions should be rounded up, impounded, and sold to cover the costs of rounding up illegal aliens.  If I ever get a ticket for speeding in a place where they coddle illegals, I plan to sue for discrimination because the law is applied to me but not to illegals.

"I think it would have been fair to offer some type of amnesty or something to offer these people that have been here for so long to give them a chance before making them loose all that they have and all they have worked for."

I agree with this one.  Let all the illegals go home with empty pockets, then get to the back of the line behind every other immigrant who is following the law.  Once all the law abiding immigrants who went through the process are in, and there are no more wanting to come in, we can let the illegals start the process.

"People say that they are taking advantage of the welfare system. Well I can not tell you how many Americans are doing that now! You see so many women who are on welfare but still have men living with them while they are receiving assistance. I know personally many that do take advantage of our welfare system and they are not illegal. Some even work for cash and still receive assitance."

So you are saying that because some legal citizens abuse the welfare system, that illegals should get to as well?  Welfare abuse is a clean different issue, and should not be discussed here.  Even if legal Americans are abusing the welfare system, they are still citizens.

"Oklahoma needs to focus on so many other things than this bill. Just for instance our emergency rooms. My mother was taking by ambulance to a locally popular hospital. We waited for 4 1/2 hrs. with her in the hall way on a bed and not be attended. We made the decision to take her out of there because we could not get no one to help her. Luckily she was ok. This was on a Sat. that she was taken to the E.R. I asked the nurse if this was a busy day for them and she said not this is a typical day. So I am thinking if this is just a typical day what would happen if our city would need medical emergency response? You see the fire dept., police dept. practicing procedures in case there were ever any state emergency but in reality if there were such a thing so many people would die due to lack of medical response. Oklahoma needs to wake up and focus on so many other issues that are more important to our citizens. Our bridges are falling and still nothing is being done!!!"

Yes, and this is because of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!  You might have lost your mother due to illegal immigrants sapping the emergency rooms into receivership.  2+2=4 here lady!  Fact, illegals get all their medical care from emergency rooms.  Fact, the government pays the hospitals less than it costs them to treat these illegals.  Fact, you can only bleed so much money before you have to close up shop.  Fact, when you close 1 emergency room in a town with 2 emergency rooms, traffic at the remaining emergency room doubles. Fact, so does the illegal population going to that emergency room.  Los Angeles has lost so many ER rooms that it won't be long until there are NONE in that whole humongous city.

"I think this bill is such a big mistake. We won't see the loss now but we will be losing so much because of this ridiculos bill. I hope and pray that something will be done to stop this bill because our communities will be losing. Also we need to stop blaming illegals for frauding when in reality American's are they ones that are taking from us not them."

You aren't thinking if you think this bill is a mistake.  Tell ya what, how about if we start treating illegal immigrants the same way Mexico treats them?  We at least treat any medical issues and send them home.  Illegals in Mexico are raped, robbed, beaten, and jailed.  What we really need to do is start jailing people who employ illegals, and make them serve hard time in a real prison.  If we confiscated all illegal's property when they were busted, sending them home with nothing, put a huge tax on money transfers to other nations by non-citizens and jailed people caught dealing with illegals, the problem would dry up overnight.

As far as I'm concerned, HR 1804 is a good thing, should have been passed long ago.  A lot of illegals have already left Oklahoma, which means the hospitals are now more likely to keep their emergency rooms, and the government can use more of the money that would have gone to the ERs and welfare to do things like bridge repair, instead of having to spend it on illegals.  Not to mention, the roads and bridges will last longer with less traffic running on them, less congestion on the roads, lower cost of gasoline due to less demand, ect.

    Re: 1804 Big Mistake.

Sorry, wrong.  Illegals don't want to be here to become Americans, they want to come here, make money, then go back to Mexico.  They don't respect our nation or our laws, just our dinero.  Have you ever gone to a local traffic courtroom to watch the proceedings?  I was in an accident a few years ago, my fault.  While waiting my turn, watched about 3 dozen illegals go through.  The judge asked every one of them the same questions, through an interpreter.  I've posted what questions were asked with the answers here.

Do you have a driver's licence?  No
    Do you have insurance? No.
Do you have a green card?  No
Do you understand what laws you broke?  No
Do you have any money to pay a fine?  No

The judge then told each of them to leave the court room, and that if he ever saw them again he'd have them deported.  The judge looked bored, like he was reading a script over and over.  The offenses were all a mix of speeding, reckless driving, no insurance, unsafe vehicle, evading police, and/or minor accident with a hit and run charge.

The only time it was different was when an American citizen was before the judge, when it was all letter of the law, biggest fine plus court costs, be glad it isn't jail, ect, depending on the age, sex and race of the offender.  Being a middle aged white male, it was a more professional transaction, had to pay a several hundred dollar fine and attend traffic school.

I had no problem with my punishment, it was what I deserved.  What pissed me off about this, and cemented my desire to see something like HR1804, was how illegals are allowed to skirt our laws with no penalties attached.  That judge should have jailed each one of them when they said no green card, and had them deported.  And, if they then produced a green card, the card should have been confiscated as they are required to display them to law enforcement when asked, then imprisoned, then deported.

I don't know what court or where located, but I've been to a few traffic courts, for others, and I never heard one judge ask about a green card, D.L. Ins. etc, sure.  But everyone of them paid for the court fees and fines. I went three times for traffic tickets with Rafiel ****, and he paid.., so did all the others their.. (cricket)

You are saying to yourself, why don't they enter "Legally"? The American Counsulate in Mexico, when they go to apply for a visa they must have money in the bank in Mexico and be a land owner and have relatives in the US who are financially established as well. In other words they have to be very well off to legally come across.

I don't know what you are talking about, I have several LEGAL hispanic friends that do NOT have land in Mexico.  They also do NOT have family here in America, and they do NOT have money in the bank in Mexico.  They came over here on a school or work visa.  While attending their job or school (legally) they filled out the paper work, paid the fees, and became legal citizens.  Yes, they did have to sacrifice by not seeing their families for a while, but now they can see them anytime they want and come home (America) without any problems.

    Re: 1804 Big Mistake.

I have read everyone's comments from beginning to end...The bottomline is we have laws just like everyone else.  When these laws are overlooked, not enforced, or taken seriously, additional laws will be passed.  If people are sick of bills being passed then why dont you follow the existing law to begin with.  America would not have to take the steps in which it has if Americans and Mexicans abided by the law.  I am an American and I follow the law.  If I visited a different country I would follow their laws.  If their was a law that I was "unaware" of and I broke that law, I expect to pay the consequences.  Everyone has dues they gotta pay.  If I pay my dues and dont bit*** about it, then I definitly do not want to hear someone elses sob story.  Excuses, assumptions,  they all get you the same outcome.  You end up sounding or looking like an idiot.  America is America.  When you become a citizen then you have a right to say what you want.  Its is just like having an opinion about which president to vote for...if you are not registered, then your opinion gets you nowhere, just a bag of hot air.  Lets open our eyes people and realize what is really going on.  Abide by the law or get the **** out.  That goes for anyone, race not included.

I know what StarDog is saying. Lets say we wanted to move to Mexico permantely. We need to have lots of cash in the bank and buy land there (Though your not aloud to technically own water front property), You must be able to completely support your self as Mexico will never offer you a scrap of food. You will also never be allowed to vote either.

Well, a lot of interesting views on 1804 today at our little forum, guess the landscape and lawn crews are off work because of the rain. Glad to know so many of you are taking advantage of the computers in our excellent Library system.Oklahoma is, I believe, the only state so far with 1804, we have terrible weather, lots of rednecks, law enforcement officers who apparently practice ethnic cleansing, and we just suck in general, you might want to move to one of the other 49 states, we won't mind, REALLY WE WON'T. okay.. I read Painters post and actually went to the URL's he listed.  I noticed a few errors.  On a couple he said that illegal aliens cost all this money etc.  well on the actual links it just says "immigrants".  on some they say the numbers are estimates.  my point is that he has lumped all immigrants legal and illegal into one group without reading the very links he posted.   I understand that it's the illegal ones that ya'll have a problem with, I just don't know why he is using facts that don't neccesarily pertain to them.
