I think House Bill 1804 will ultimately be a good thing for our community. I do the investigation for new service requests for a local utility company. While researching, I see a lot of fraudulent activity. Identity theft, especially the fake social security cards is a serious problem. Many times the numbers used belong to people who live out of state; some are of the deceased but many are still very well alive.  The pattern is usually the same: a high bill is accrued, service is disconnected for non pay, and then it is merely put into someone else’s name to avoid paying the bill. This happens quite frequently among all the utility companies in our community & it has become totally out of control.  I've found alot of times the property owners have no idea who they’re even renting to.  Up until now, the Investigations that did uncover blatant identity theft only resulted in service denial.  No confiscation or reporting to local authorities was permitted. This only enabled the thief to move on somewhere else & ruin the credit of the unknowing victim. I see it first hand, and the majority of this kind of fraud is in fact among the hispanics. I'm proud to live in a community that has finally recognized how serious this problem has become not only to our local citizens, but to our national security.  It doesn't have ANYTHING to do with hate. As a matter of fact, my girlfriend happens to be Hispanic.  Like Dan Howard said, you come to our country legally & we will open ours arms to welcome you.  If not, then you need to consider EVERYTHING (especially your families) when you decide to break the Law. Enough is enough..  Way to go Tulsa Oklahoma.

I like the bill, I move to 1210 S.107th East Ave Lot 90 and retired from Cox Communication, when I moved in to the Park there were NO immigrants living here, I chose it because it has a central point to our hwy system. Sense I have moved in there are probably 30 families living here. I don't hate them and feel they are trying to make a better life for their families, however I do believe they broke the law by coming here. I leave my front door open to watch the neighborhood, on any Friday night you can find many immigrants pulling up to a trailer two doors down. Some Fridays they block the complete road. I have found empty bottles of beer in the middle of the street and trash all over the place. They speed and have no reguard for public safety, the speed limit is 10 miles per hour on my street, very rarely to they drive that slow. Some with music so loud you can not even enjoy your own evening. I have got in touch with Calming streets division of Tulsa, they said they would check on it. We have had two bad accidents taking out the fence on 107th East  Ave in the past 6 months and I reported that to the Street Calming Div. Nothing has been done to slow the driver down, my concern is the kid who wal to and from school walk down the street where these fences we taken out. So far we haven't lost a child. I don't like the Idea of me working 44 years paying my taxes every year for Illegal immigrants to use ouyr benifit for working, because their government encourages them to come to our country? I think they need to stop them at the border! Where is congress on this and many other problems?

Yes, way to go Oklahoma. Since the federals cannot agree on ANYTHING regarding illegals, it is up to the states to stop the invasion tactics and get this train wreck under control. We seldom lead the nation, but I hope this moderate legislation and the implementation of same will be an example to the rest of the U.S. 

See this is the problem with this house bill. Everyone is blaming illegal immigrants. If they are doing this its because someone told them about. I know people who are Americans and put utility bills in there childrens names b/c they have bills unpaid. So quite blaming it all on illegals.

I have seen highschool kids speeding, under age drinking, having parties, leaving yards with beer cans. What about the girl that killed the hispanic boy not to long ago. She was 14 or 15 and how fast was she going in a neighborhood. This poor innocent boy was mowing the yard. Don't use this as an excuse to blame it all on illegals.

Not blaming it all on illegals. You obviously don't understand the seriousness of the problem our community faces or country for that matter. I'm telling you what I've observed.  You are right about people using their kids names to get service.  I along with most hard working people blame anyone who uses or steals other people's Social Security numbers.  You act as though it's ok because someone told them about it.  Perhaps it will take having your identity stolen & credit wrecked to sway your obvious liberal point of view.

It is never ok for anyone to steal someone elses's identity. What I am trying to get my point across is that if they came here illegal they would not have known how to work up a scam unless someone had told or showed them how. So therefore it's not just illegals. A citizen had to have told or showed them. You are acting as if it is only the illegals doing it. All I am saying is don't play the blame game.

Well what are you waiting for. Pick up the phone and call the utility compnay and give them the names and addresses of the folks commiting fraud. Stop complaining and do something. You should get a thrill from turning in an American Citizen for a crime........ 

I don't understand your point.  The job I have deals with investigating fraudulent activity.  My observation has shown & "proved" that the majority of the fraudulent ss cards being sent in to verify the actual person requesting service, are indeed coming in from the hispanic population.  I doubt seriously if the ones that are here legally are doing this.  Why would they need too if they have their own number?   When an illegal alien enters the country, I'm sure the word is out on how to obtain false documents that will help them blend into the community.  I think there's even a website that provides information to those who wish to go that route.  I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings & makes you mad that the "MAJORITY" points to the hispanic race.  My girlfriend and her family came here legally & it really upsets them to see what has happened over the years.  I totally understand a person wanting to make a better life for themselves & their family.  I  would never blame anyone for wanting to come here.  But there is a way to go about it, and that would be the right way.  I blame our government not the guy that want's to make a better life.  We need to secure our borders & find out exactly who is here before we get hit again.  We have enough hateful homegrown American idiots as it is.  I never meant to offend anyone but I will tell you this.  The illegal immigrants have a lot of nerve coming over here demanding this & that with their rallies & marches.  Doesn't make much sense if you think about it does it?  If the truth were known, that's probably a whole lot of it.  If you think that kind of stuff doesn't have that big effect on how most Americans feel about illegal aliens being in this country, then I think a person is sadly mistaken.  I really hope this bill starts a chain reaction across this country.  We need to know who's here.  Our government is a joke & I'm so sorry that it's come to this but we cannot go on like this much longer.  So lighten up "No1804".  You already agreed that it's not right for anyone to steal someone else's ss#.  That's my biggest problem in a nutshell.  And I am so very justified in feeling that way no matter what anyone thinks..

For a complete copy of the HB-1804, you can contact the governors office and request a copy to be sent to you. Here is part of it: 1. Makes transporting, concealing or sheltering an undocumented immigrant from detention a felony. 2. Allows certain undocumented students to pay in-state tution but requires them to prove they applied for legal status. 3. Restricts eligibilty for state driver's licenses and ID cards to citizens, nationals and legal immigrants. 4. Keeps state and local governments from contracting with businesses that do not verify citizenship of their employees. 5. Requires businesses to use the federal government's Status Verification System to determine employees status beginning July 1, 2008. 6.Reguires all state local agencies to verify lawful presence of applicants for state or local public benefits using federal system. 7. Authorizes the Department of Public Safety to establish a Fraudulent Documents identification Unit, which is contingent on funding. 8. Requires undocumented immigrants who commit a crime to be deemed a flight risk for bond determinination purpose. (this is what it boils down to.) Hope this helps you out. (cricket)

 The boys name was Fabian. Nothing was heard about what happened after the girl claimed it was racist, since she was a black girl, just like OJ did. I don't feel that race has anything to do with it, the girl wasn't only under age to drive, she was driving recklessly and speeding in a residentual area, plus she had younger children in the car she was driving, which indangered their lives also, so there is no way that race should have anything to do with it. Maybe everyone else should claim race when they get into trouble with anyone of the opposite race. (cricket)

Will i think that law 1804  is a bad  thing because some people come here to tulsa to get a better life and not to harm any body im really sad that this law got in affect. So Victor you are choosing to break the law?  Is that what I understand from your post?  Your reasons for coming to Tulsa may be to create a better life for yourself and your family, but can you do that by being illegal and breaking our laws on a daily basis? What kind of message does that send to your children?  That it is ok to break the law because you do not agree with it?  If that is the case then why do we even have laws if people can pick and choose which ones they want to obey? Just the ones they like? 

You children may receive a better education, but what are you teaching them by your actions? 

Sunshine I have been reading some of your postings, not only on this but other topics.  You come across bitter and hateful.  I can only hope that you practice what you preach.
