    Illegals Roundup!!!

    Illegal Workers Arrested After Tip

An anonymous tip on Wednesday morning led to a bust in Mayes County.  Deputies arrested 10 undocumented construction workers. But the arrests are already stirring up controversy.

The News On 6's Jeffrey Smith reports deputies say it was one of the biggest illegal worker busts on record for them.  But Hispanic leaders say it sets a dangerous precedent and it all comes down to how you interpret a controversial phrase of a controversial law.

Oklahoma's tough new immigration law allows police to arrest immigrants if they can't show documentation. It's one of the toughest in the country.

"We actually questioned 13 people, we arrested 10 for being undocumented," said Mayes County Sheriff Frank Cantey.

An anonymous caller on Wednesday told Mayes County sheriff's about illegal workers in Salina at the new middle school.

"We've had one or two before, but this is the first time we've had a large number, as large a number as this," said Cantey.

    Re: Illegals Roundup!!!

Whoa, if they weren't documented, this means they haven't had any kind of  background check, and they were working at a middle school?  Now that sounds a bit scary for me! No wonder little kids are dealing drugs in grade school, sounds like the school system doesn't really care if the kids are exposed to potentially dangerous individuals any more. Legal citizens are dangerous enough these days, but people with basically no identity just sounds like a really bad idea, while I realize all drugs do not come from across the border by any means, they did just bust a whole bunch of Hispanic folks with some horrible drugs and a lot of it, so even if this last bust might make some mad,  I think it is a good thing.  Wonder if the parents knew this was going on, must have since someone turned them in,  I guess we can  expect a LOT of fireworks from the front row of pews, sounds like it has begun already.

I fell sorry for theses people.  If it wasn't for American giving them jobs we wouldn't be having theses problems.  No jobs no Illegals it is that simple.  I can't wait until they start Fining the owner of the companies that heirs the people.  This is fought we give them jobs but we do not want them here.

I understand that 5 out of those 10 were not illegal, they were acutally Americans.  Like to see if JD would check that out and let us know the truth on it.

    Re: Illegals Roundup!!!

I am sure after being arrested they were allowed there phone call while background checks were being performed.
We have to find out who they are as if there not Mexican we can not drop them off at the Mexican border.

    Re: Illegals Roundup!!!

I doubt they had proper identification or were American citizens, haven't heard of a single case of someone who is a legal citizen being arrested and held as an illegal. Just isn't the way it is regardless of what kinds of stories are told to the press, that is all just propaganda to elicit sympathy from the public, the people of Oklahoma might be hillbillies and rednecks, but we are smart enough to recognize bullshi* intel when we see it.

    Re: Illegals Roundup!!!

They must have been working on the new elementary school right beside the middle school that's suppose to be up and running by August.  I can't imagine why they'd need that many workers at the middle school.  It's the largest school in Salina and it's really not that big to be honest.

    Re: Illegals Roundup!!!

I say that the law dogs are not doing enough to rid this country of  illegal and undocumented people. Confiscate any and all property and take them straight to the nearest border and force them to go back to where they come from, the same way they came here: POOR, HOMELESS, and DESTITUTE. They are a vary big burden in our country. Notice I said OUR COUNTRY!!!!! I am willing to forego any human rights beliefs that I value, because it's just not right, Heck, 98% of those extradited are back here on this side of the border within a few hours. They keep on coming because it's sad but true, our JAILS and PRISONS feed , clothe and provide medical that they can't get in thier own country. OH YEAH!!!! Next time you purchase insurance for your vehicle, you may consider purchasing Uninsured Motorist policy, cause there are so many illegal immigrates that are driving OUR streets and highways without any insurance it scares the heck outa ya!
