Sooo.... Ice storms suck!
Well.. what can I say ... I hate ice storms. I'm greatful for temperatures above freezing, and I miss the sun shining! It's a good time to enjoy hot chocolate, though.
oh... our collie with the thick winter fur coat doesn't seem to mind that it's frozen outside. She's pretty much happy as a duck in a pond in the middle of summer........

Sorry to hear you're in pain, greywolf. Hope you feel better soon.
My hands are so cold I can hardly feel the keys as I type. I'm going to try and get some pictures.. maybe.

Re: Sooo.... Ice storms suck!
Dr's don't impress me. I quit going to them last year for two reasons. My medicines cost more than rent, and not one Dr' would agree on what is wrong. After two years of testing in NY I was diagnosed With FM/CFS. Sleep apnea and some other things. When I moved that Dr told me my Dr was wrong. He left and I saw a new Dr. the new Dr said my old Dr was wrong. Etc etc etc.
My last two Dr's told me it was FM/CFS, PTSD, COPD, ABC's, XYZ's and a host of other things. The medicines they gave me DO NOT WORK, yet they want me to keep taking them. If they would work, I would, they don't.
Now with this cold snap, I go into Batman mode, "Ow", "Ooh", "Ouch", "EEEH"!
Good news is I want a Garden and a Friend that has a similar illness has told me about lasagna Gardening, so I can have a garden this year, I will be posting that in the Garden forums here.

Re: Sooo.... Ice storms suck!
hi, sounds like the dr shuffle, but living with that much pain is no good...i've had 2 failed back surgeries & a regular md doesn't know what to do with me because they want to "fix" me, well, that has already been tried, twice...now i just go to a pain treatment center, which doesn't help 100% but the meds are better than nothing...the cold weather is a brutal enemy of mine also, but i still like cold weather better than 110 degree weather...but a garden sounds really good.....

Re: Sooo.... Ice storms suck!
We found a product called formula 303. It's a natural muscle relaxer and it works wonders on my back when I have problems. I use that when I need it, and then when my joints get to bothering me I use Glucosamine with MSM, and Glucosamine Chondroitin. After a couple of days of the latter, my joints feel fine. It really works, too. You can get the Glucosamine at walmart, and the 303 we used to get at a chiropractors office, but we found it online way cheaper. Just google it and you'll find it pretty easy if you want to look it up.

Thanks J.D. I havent tried or heard of either of those. My ex told me to try Arsenic. Glucosamine might be great for my legs due to Diabetes The other I'll google and see fi I can get it.

I was very surprised how well the Glucosamine worked for my joints. My problem is remembering to TAKE it!! btw, there are two versions of the Glucosamine... with MSM, and with Chondroiton. I got the ones that were timed released and took both of them. It's supposed to help rebuild the padding between your joints.
We first started using the Forumla 303 when we were going to a former chiropractor. He's retired now.... A while back I had a back pinched nerve in my neck and I spent a couple of weeks visiting a new chiropractor trying to correct the problem. The next time I got that same pinched nerve in my neck, I began putting ice on it right away and took the formula 303 around the clock and after the 1st 24 hours the pain and kink were nearly totally gone and I could turn my head again.
Anyway.... that worked for us, AND my grown daughter swears by it when she has back problems. btw, I'm diabetic, too.. borderline, but I have some issues with numbness in my feet. I'm slowly getting back some of the feeling in my toes, but I think that's attributed to the massage I've been getting for my feet recently.
