I will not appologize for being raised old school and was raised in a small town in NE Oklahoma. I did get my share of spankings at home and I got my share of paddlings at school. I laugh about it now, but at the time it was indeed painful, if not even deserved. Personally, I would not want any teacher, or any other adult spanking my child. But, I do believe in corporal punishment in my home. Not to the point of causing physical abuse: bruising or bleeding. I have 4 daughters that are grown now, and they got thier share of dicipline while in my home, and they still love and respect thier parents. I can't help but point out that 90% of the teens [ 11 to 19 yrs. ] that are delinquent, that are in some form of trouble in school, at home, or in the streets, are having those problems because they do not have any dicipline at home or because they are being abused at home. It's a difficult stand to take, therefore I have to rely on the fact that God's Word is true, and we find this in the great book of Proverbs Chapter 13 Verse 24: He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves his son diciplines him promptly. Dicipline must begin at home, so does respect,self-control, love, and any other of the virtues that we say are good and right. Children are impressionable at a very early age, they imitate what they see us do, and in some instances that is a sad truth of life. Secondly, as far as the law and government are concerned in this matter, is that it has become too invasive and intrusive these days. It's a fact of life, BIG BROTHER is here, and he ain't gonna leave, so soon I suspect that corporal punishment will be outlawed even in the home. Peace and Happiness to you .....
