I work with the man whose grandson was scalded to death by his father, DHS knew abuse was going on with the man and that little baby, they refused to let the grandfather take the child, instead returned him to the father, so he scalded him to death. yes we know too. this is exactly what has happened to us !!!!!!! they leave children in bad homes and take the good, i've seen it over and over again. i really don't see anything good about DHS at all. Ithink if you see someone doing something bad to a child everyone would be better off if you took matters into your own hands and did something yourself 'cause you wait on DHS and the child dies. If the parents aren't doing everything you think they should be doing but you don't feel like the children are in mortal danger the kids will probably still be better off in the home than in DHS custody!!!!!!!!

don't be surprised to hear this, but my children were taken from my home by DHS and the case worker refuses to work with us about it and is causing so many problems for me and my family.

Contact the U.S.Senator's office, make sure you explain everything, including dates, where  the children are located, etc. If you have any proof of a letter from DHS, make a copy and send it also, the more information the better. They will investigate and then contact you, sometimes it takes a couple of months, but they will let you know what is going on, or when you can go and get your child, (children.)  Make a copy of all correspondences. When I was in Wyoming, my ex's family wanted to visit with one of my daughters, on and off the DHS had taken her and put her in custody, she was awarded to the state, it took me a long time to find her, when I did, I came to Oklahoma in search of my daughter. I was put through living he**, for almost a year. I contacted the U.S.Senator's office, within three months, I had my daughter back. His family was never allowed to see her again, I made sure of that. Believe me, she went through so much while in the custody of the so called DHS, that she still has problems in her life, and raising her children, some of the treatment has come out to them. Fight for everything you have for your children. It is true that the DHS will take children from good people and leave them with bad parents. My daughter was acting out, because she wanted to get back home with me, she was very angry with his family for not returning her.. The DHS took that as she was being abused. (cricket)

I have to say my problems with dhs are a bit different and not quite as severe,however they all stem from the same source dhs has to much uncontrolled authority in my honest opinion,from the sexist judges that give almost all custudy to females instead of analyzing the situation and choosing the parent that would give the child more care,love and more stability.It weighs heavy on the tax payers when females milk dhs by having 2 or more kids by different people and taking advantage of the dhs system,
 Charging intrest on childsupport,ruining credit of payers of child support having their own judges and giving and taking of children as if they were property,on the opinions of people from complete strangers to doctors,nurses is a bit much.Also behind the scenes of all this they by pass peoples rights such as the 1974 privacy act,they know more bout my finances than I do,I dont understand how they have the ability to tell people how to raise their children at all this country has done with out dhs for over 150 years and the country still stands since the formation of dhs and their interventions in peoples lives society has went down hill fast.
 I wont bore ya with my problems with dhs but I can say i have yet to find a lawyer to take my case and help me fight them at all which brings me to an above poster in that we need to form something and fight dhs together to make changes to dhs or get it dissolved so at least other people wont have to go through the same problems that we have. Ill ask again if any one knows a lawyer or firm that fights dhs or an organization please let me know,dhs is running a muck and needs to be stopped.

I'm hoping to change it.  It would be hard and I know where a lot of you are coming from because I had similar experiences with DHS in Tulsa back when I was a counselor there.

I've heard of a lot of people notifying the Senators office with ordeals similar with this.  I personally know nothing about it.  I do know that my mother has done it beacuse my uncle was being misstreated by the guards in prison.  In response, some really sorry pathetic guards who were later investigated and found out a lot of other crap about them were terminated and charged themselves.  Granted, my uncle is no saint but he doesn't deserve to be treated the way those guards were treating him either.  I can honestly say though, he's never murdered or raped anyone.

 

Sir, if our own Senator gave time to investigate my uncle(who's in prison), then no doubt the office can help you too.  IN return, I've heard of a lot of people with DHS cases go to the senators office and got positive results.  Many times I've seen people(who actually go through treatment and do what their told and actually learn things and improve themselves) still get drugged through the system simply because DHS needs the productivity.  COntact the senators office.  That's about all the help I can tell you.

Oklahoma DHS is in the business of stealing and then selling children to the highest bidder!!!!!!!!!!  They take them away from good parents for trumped up charges and alegations (unexplicable bruises on 3 and 4 yr olds for example) then brain-wash kids to say what they want them to say under the promise that they can go home if they just say it.  The children finally break down and say what they want to hear (out of fear of never seeing they're parents) and later find out that they're parents were put in jail and they won't see them again, then are sold to the highest bidder.  Look up oscn.net then select court dockets at the tab at the top and select oklahoma county under section 1 and enter case # cf1999-2951 in section 3.  There you will find the case I finally gave up fighting after 2 years with this screwwed up system on.  I took a plea of a felony charge (not a conviction) of failure to protect (technically it was permitting child abuse with no sexual findings) and they tried to stick me with permitting sex abuse after they had a doctor mutilate her with a first exam then a few months later a second one from a different doctor.  This was after the first doctor scraped her girl stuff at 3 years old and then said there was no penetration.  The second doctor said there was wearing of the girl stuff but no penetration.  MORONS!!!!  YOUR STUPID DOCTOR DID THE DAMAGE THE FIRST TIME!!!!  Then then got my kids to say that my husband beat them with a rubber hose and rope.  We didn't even have a hose or a faucet to put one on, nor did we have any rope.  I wrote the senators (still have that whole file including the response from JC Watts) saying there was nothing that could be done because this wasn't a federal matter for a senator to handle.  My children were moved from foster care to my mother's care where they were taken because she stopped them from talking to either one of my kids privately and demanded to be present at all times (which is perfectly legal).  Then they contacted my son's biological father and sent both of them to live with him in Iowa.  My criminal proceedings were finally over after my lawyer asked for money that I didn't have for 4 more days and decided that we needed to take the plea on criminal proceedings.  He failed to tell me that it would cost me my rights as a mother.  The jeuvenile proceedings went very quick after that and he then advised me my best course of action was to voluntarily give up my rights with the exception that I had visitation and would be able to write or call them anytime.  I agreed.  IT NEVER MADE IT INTO THE FILE AT DHS!!!!  I haven't seen or talked to my children since April 20th of 2000!!!!!!!    My son is now almost 14 years old and my daughter is now 12 years old and I wouldn't recognize them if I saw them on the street.  From what my other family tells me (uncle works with the other grandfather in missouri) they are both A students and my son is 5' 11" and doesn't like the phone and my daughter is still a talker.  I have survived a living hell because of a favor that a pissed of ex-mother-in-law used with this DHS system.  I could feel myself losing my mind and couldn't stop it.  My lower abdomen feels so empty to this day, it's an emptiness that only a mother that's lost a child would understand.  I have not stopped trying to find them (they moved from the address that I had) since then.  I can only hope and pray that they will want to find me when Iowa's laws allow (age) them to make the decision.  I'm not sure what I'll say or how I'll react if it happens and I probably won't be fully prepared.  But this is why I keep that file so that I will have answers to their questions.  DHS has too much power and they abuse it multiple times daily.  They steal kids from good parents and leave kids with the undeserving ones and allow them to come up dead.  Parents have been denied the ability to discipline their own kids for about 15 years and now we have kids that are shooting kids in school, we now have a higher crime rate for kids than we do for adults.  it's not the parents that are the problem, it's DHS!

Hey lady, spare us all please.  I actually took the liberty of looking up your case and indeed saw where you plead guilty to the charges.  If you were indeed innocent, then you should have pleaded innocent.  I would have, no matter what.  Give a damn what a lawyer suggested, I'll go to prison for years before admitting to something I never did.

There's also an old saying that goes, "sleep with a dog with fleas, you are bound to get fleas yourself."  I also took the liberty of looking up the rest of your cases.  Looks to me like you were sued for paternity and also you filed a protective order on your boyfriends relative.  The protective order was filed before the case where you lost your kids.  Sounds like to me you seem to align yourself with the wrong people ALL THE TIME.  Let's face it, after looking into their background I found out they are nothing but common theives and your boyfriend just got out of prison/jail for basically being a theif.  Thing is, they had to lookin for this guy because he decided he just didn't want to show up for court.  And after all it was said and done, it was dismissed.  Dismissed, and the stupid idiot still didn't show up for court and they had to get a bench warrant after him.

Let's go through the rest of his rap sheet.  Using Firearms To Commit Felony, Use Of A Vehicle To Facilitate Disch A Firearm(twice), Receiving Stolen Property(twice), and Possission Of Marijuana In A Penal Inst.

This was all stemming before your court case from which you both were convicted of child abuse.

Shame on you lady for letting this monster around your kids.  I'm sorry, I have no sympathy for you.  However, I'm glad to know your kids are doing a lot better(WITHOUT YOU).  Do them a favor and stay out of their lives.

Let's face it, DHS doesn't always make the right decision and however I do agree you do have a right to see your kids(SUPERVISED).  But, I do not agree that this was DHS trickery.  I believe it does exist, but not in this case.  Good luck to you, hope you do indeed get help.

Number 2, his ex-mother-in-law posted bond for him on checks that HIS EX-WIFE WROTE, THE EX-WIFE SIGNED HIS NAME!  The D.A. brought criminal charges against him because it was HIS account and not hers.  Her mother pulled that bond (revoked it) AFTER he told her (the ex-wife) that he wanted a divorce in late October 98 and moved out.  When a bond is revoked, there is a bench warrant issued (duh).  I had to turn around and post bond for him after they tried to serve his warrant at MY WORK.  Not his work, my work.  The same work that I was later fired from because of her harassment/stalking/threats after my failed attempt to get protection from her.  He paid his 500.00 debt to society a long time ago and doesn't have to answer to you or anybody else for a crime that is more than 10 years old.

Number 3, the charges you listed are for the WRONG PERSON.  In case you didn't know there's more than one Cook on the planet and there are at least 4 with the same name as my HUSBAND in Oklahoma City and at least one more in Broken Arrow alone (it's called a phone book, use it).  The one that has your listed charges IS NOT MY HUSBAND.  That guy has a middle name of Todd and had you actually paid attention, the case where the “relative” divorced my husband  shows he has the middle name of Tate.   Can't you read?

Number 4, I didn't "get sued" for paternity, that is something that the court REQUIRES for THEIR records.  His name was not on the birth certificate because in the state where they were born, the father must sign an affidavit of paternity and he was away in college when they were born.  Therefore, paternity MUST BE ESTABLISHED before he can be included as a parent.   He later attempted to extort several thousand dollars from my then 80 year old grandmother with Alzheimer’s claiming that my son needed an operation or he would die.   And yes, there was a witness for this attempted extortion that happened to be a St Louis County Judge that my grandmother used to work with in the criminal court for Missouri.  The father had no idea that the judge was there for brunch.  What an angel, huh?
