My un-neighborly neighbors
I seriously hate to be "that" person, but.....
The people who live behind me have 3 pit bulls that bark incessantly! All through the night and whenever my two little dogs or I go out in the back yard. Through the privacy fence I can hear that their barks and growls are not friendly! I feel bad for them because the owners never take them inside... even in the snow and rain! When my husband was up fixing the roof he didn't see any dog houses in the yard and the dogs acted very aggressive to him. Any suggestions on what I should do?
Also....
I live in a nice neighborhood, but the people across the street are kinda strange and I have reason to believe that there might be some drug trafficing going on! We live in a cult-a-sac and you wouldn't believe the amount of people that come and turn around in the cult-a-sac (sp?) at all hours of the night, they live on the corner when you first enter. I know the occasional turn around should be expected, but this is constant, it's like a drive thru every night! Any ideas on what to do about this? There are children in this area and i would hate for some drug brawl to go down in the street and a child to get hurt.
Any ideas would be helpful! Thank you!

Re: My un-neighborly neighbors
I know that high traffic doesn't mean drugs but, come on! No one is that popular! And it's a cult-a-sac, if I lived on a main street then I wouldn't even notice! LOL

LOL, All I am saying is, THAT IS A NICE EXCUSE THE POLICE WILL GIVE YOU! sarcasticgrl: Hello, 911? There is a lot of traffic across the street, I think there doing drugs. 911: Don't you have anything better to do than spy on neighbors? Let me patch you to the police. Police: Hello? High traffic doesn't mean drugs, and traffic is not a crime unless I need to fill my quota. <click> And now you just wasted 5 minutes of your life. I am pretty sure your are going to have to convince them that Life or property is in danger before they act. Then give them the correct address before they surround an empty house for 6 hours. Yeah, convince them that there are NO firearms in the house, you get a better chance of them showing up. You know there dealing drugs, I know there dealing drugs, the police do not care if there dealing drugs as long as its quiet. Are they running any specials over there?

I'm not defending the police, but I've never heard any police act like what you've described on here. The public has been asked to report extra traffic, possible drug activities, and they will respond, the rest of your post was fairly right. Just call the police and tell them that you suspect drugs, due to the traffic flow, in and out at all hours. explain some of the situation to them, not the total details, that can be explained when they arrive, it may take them awhile to get there, since they may have accidents they're attending, or whatever, but be patient and stay calm. As for the situation about the dog, or dogs, take that up with the animal control. (cricket)

Re: My un-neighborly neighbors
Problem 1: Hot Dogs soaked in antifreeze will silence their bark.
Problem 2: Form a neighborhood patrol, then have the patrol walk around their home in KKK outfits.

LOL anyone that wishes, you may come over for dinner (Ramen Noodles and Microwave Popcorn) and drinks (coffee , beer), and we will sit outside and watch the street. Some of my post was in tongue in cheek but I don't know how many nights I have watched the goings on in horror. Also since I have "The Block Phone" I am privy to a lot of phone calls and issues that happen. I would love to get our street cleaned up but its gotten to the point where I told the last Blue Boy that visited, that I draw the line at the door jam. Anything inside is my problem, anything outside Is not my problem and I don't care. I am not going to sit at the door and listen to the Blue Boys ask me a question, insinuate that I am a liar, I know more than what I said, or I am involved somehow. Maybe in other areas there good, but these boys have showed me that they are rude and incompetent. I even talked to the landlord, and he and other landlords are trying to clean the street up. The police have agreed to co-operate, now if they stop you, they accuse you of Dealing drugs, pimping, prostitution and what ever else thats comes to mind (But when you come back clean, they let you go). Even if they were being professional, its to little to late. I have always respected the police until I met the Tulsa Police Dept. I am sorry I am poor and live in a poor neighborhood. That is no excuse to be treated like dirt. As far as S.G. and the "High traffic doesn't mean drugs", lol, that's the excuse she will get, I don't care what the Mayor says. As far as being patient, yes, they will show up if your patient. Its been 86 days since shots have bounced off our building, I am expecting them anytime now.

Yeah, I had that situation across the street minus the dogs, the only one barking all night was the crazy abusive guy who threw his equally crazy wife up against the wall and screamed "F words" at her all the time. I knew there was drugs being sold, and most likely manufacturing going on, I kept calling the police, I didn't think they were doing any thing, but they were observing the house. It was a rental house, so eventually the landlord got wind of it and called the sheriffs dept. They kept trying to serve them, but anytime a cop came around, suddenly they weren't home, so finally the Sheriffs Dept sent a woman wearing a biker outfit with the order, these people were supplying a lot of people drugs, and one of the houses they supplied was a house down the street where 4 bikers lived, they were walking and driving their bikes down to buy drugs all hours of the night, revving their Harleys all the way up and down the block, talk about annoying at 3 am., so anyway, when the biker chick showed up these idiots thought she was there to buy drugs, and they opened the door. Suffices to say, those people are gone, and the same week they were served, three of the bikers loaded their bikes into a UHaul and left, seems they were also stealing Motorcycles and parts and re-selling them, guess the guys down the street had a few parts on their bikes that weren't factory installed. Felt sorry for the landlord, his house was a beautiful little cottage, just remodled and everything when these stupid pigs moved in, they knocked holes all in the wall, kicked in every door except for the back one which the cops kicked in, tore all the lights out of the ceiling because they were so paranoid about being watched, and peed all up and down the walls in every room, and broke out almost all of this windows, ruined this mans house completely, plus tore up the whole front of his fence, drove a UHaul up to the porch and left a huge mud pit in the front yard, and destroyed the grass. Just keep calling the police, tell them you smell chemical smells in that area, whatever, sooner or later they will start driving by, that might be all that is needed. As far as the dogs, antifreeze and weiners might be a little cruel, but there is a plant called "dumb cane", commonly known as "Mother-in-Law tongue", if fed a bit of that, the dogs will lose the ability to make noise for a period of time, and it isn't harmful unless a whole lot is injested. Just a suggestion, other than that, a cross-bow is silent, accurate and deadly.

LOL! I don't want to hurt the dogs! Maybe an annoymous note threatening to call animal control would suffice. I feel sorry for them! But I also want them to shut up!!!
As for the folks across the street, I also don't want them to know that I was the one that called! Being shot in the face doesn't sound fun at all!

*giggle*Marlin! Antifreeze?! LOL You are going to have PETA all over you.
I had a neighbor that let her dog bark constantly and my son went over and opened the gate, and let him out. End of issue.

Yeah, I worried about the crazies knowing I called, told the Police I did not want them to mention me or come to my house, they didn't. Tega had a good idea, just be sure they can't bite you when you let them out, I wouldn't really shoot a dog, well unless he was attacking, then I would shoot one of my own, but maybe some sleeping aid in hamburger wouldn't hurt, at least get some sleep for one night. Had a friend in Florida who lived next door to a lady who had two old yappy little dogs, barked all the time, he was in the Navy, worked at night, freaking dogs barked all day long from the time the lady went to work until late at night, he talked to her, she got mad, and purposely let them stay out as much as possible just to teach him a lesson, he got enough one day, fed the little stinkers half a bottle of some kind of cream liquor, both of them passed out. He kept doing that until he was transfered a year and a half later, the lady kept taking her dogs to the vet because they were acting funny, she never knew they were just alcohol soaked lushes. He got lots of sleep though. Don't know if the dogs joined AA.

Nah. Peta's just as narrow-minded. They have no love for my breed. They fight for breed bans, so why should they care if a neighborhood vigilante killed a few? That's progress as far as they're concerned.
For the barking, try an air horn everytime they start up. One of two things will happen: Either your neighbors will get tired of you honking back and do something about it, or the dogs will hate the noise enough to shut up. Also, make sure your fence is good and secure. If the dogs are anything like Pit Bulls are supposed to be, they're probably not interested in hurting you, but would have a field day with your dogs. Call animal control about the lack of shelter, the noise complaint, anything else that catches your eye. Best case scenario would be if animal control will remove the dogs. They wont make it out of the Tulsa shelter alive, but at least I wont have to listen to snide remarks from Marlin when they get on the news for hurting somebody because their owner was a tool.

Re: My un-neighborly neighbors
Tega: BEST FREAKIN IDEA EVER BAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woot woot! I am gonna get an aircan for my loud neighbor upstairs. I bet that stuff sounds great going thru a vent. *grin* My neighbor upstairs is a nightmare.
Tega, Tega, Tega, I am an old hand at gettign even with nighbors. Buy one Bass piano string (The lowest note you can, High Quality Wire). Buy one LARGE Penny nail. Get a thick stick and a butter knife. Since you have a vent, I would go through the vent. Wrap the wire a few times tightly around the nail. Make sure you hit a stud or good piece of wood for stability. If you can punch through wood, then the vent, all the better. Wrap other end around the stick and pull tightly. Take the butter knife and run the back side, gently across the string. This will reverberate the vent and or wall badly. The sound is similiar to chewing on Aluminum foil while someone is scratching there nails across a chalk board and zapping you with a stun gun. If done properly you can easily hide the wire and play stupid, to give you years of entertainment.

Re: My un-neighborly neighbors
Sarcastic, as much as you hate the barking, it is not the animals' fault. Please don't poison them,or let them out to possibly be run over and killed. I trained my neighbor's dogs to not only stop barking, but also stop all aggressive behavior towards me. I used a portable version of this.... http://www.ultimatebarkcontrol.com/ds_pro.htm It is humane and VERY effective. This is just one example. There are others that are cheaper/more expensive.
