The ORU Orchestra will give a concert on April 8 at 7:30
p.m. in Timko-Barton Performance Hall on the ORU campus. Among other selections
the orchestra will perform the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in
celebration of the 100th anniversary of its premiere.
Crystal Dyer, principal oboe, will be featured in Wayne
Barlow’s “The Winter’s Passed” and student Maria Van Vogt will conduct
movements from “Capriol Suite” by British composer Peter Warlock. Flutists,
Charissa Schmidt and Kirsten Madea will also be featured in Gustav Holst’s “A
Fugal Concerto.”
